i have some freeze like 2-3 time every new map i am in, but i saw people with end end pc freezing too so i can hope there will be fix for them that will fix my freeze too, good game thought, but those freeze are annoying lol
game need some more polishing, new game on pc having trouble ? not the first time , heh
I know, i know, there's a white bar at top because it will technically be windowed, but it completely got rid of the issue for me. Hope this helps.
Found the solution. This game must run on SSD.
I had the same issues when running it in HDD.
I did install on SSD. It's clearly stated in the minimum requirements that you need an SSD. Your only issue was you didn't read it. People are experiencing freezes even when they have it installed on an SSD and is fixed by following my tutorial.

the solution you wrote isnt working in my case.
i checked taskmanager and other hardware values with different programs and could only see that whenever it happens one core gets hammered while the other go down to normal desktop level.
the frames go down to 0 and when its over then everything runs smooth again till it happens in roughly a minute again.
just started recently for me ( ~10 hours ago ) with roughly 115 hours of playtime so far.
BTW, i was running it on a i5 7500 with RTX 3060... my cpu was bottle necking like a mofo.
So much like a lot of people here, my game was playing smoothly at about 40fps but would randomly freeze completely for about 3-5 seconds. If it wasn't doing this, sometimes the audio will be choppy and cut out randomly. For example during NPC conversations, he audio will be silent but the NPC will be visually moving their lips etc as if to be talking. I also had issues with just being in the open world, and firing my gun for example, the gun will be firing visually but no gunshots can be heard.
I managed to solve this. The first thing I did was move my game from a HDD to a SSD. I also used the "Battle Encoder Shirase" application and following a suggestion no youtube, I restricted the CPU availablity by -8%. I've now played the game flawlessly at a consistent 40 average FPS with no audio or freezing issues. The game is now 100% playable!
I will also add, I'm playing this on a i7 4790k CPU which I know is not sufficient for this game from what I have been reading but I CAN play the game, without any issues now which proves that the problem is not the hardware itself alone but rather the software/game itself. So, don't go running to the shops to buy new upgrades because it could just be solved by these small changes (until the game developers fix it their end)
Enjoy!
