Especially since there is a bug if you are on 4k and you change resolution to 144p the game doesn't scale so you get a tiny little game window.
Dont ask me why though I have no idea. I just no that the downsides of borderless fullscreen compared to exclusive full screen no longer exist in DX12
I guess you have to try use Win 11 "game mode" or something to try block those. Or, you know, Bethesda could supply us with the normal set of config options people expect from a game with this kind of price tag.
use the render res scale slider.. it does the same thing but keeps the UI native res so it looks good.
If it's a D3D12 game, D3D12 doesn't really have a true full screen exclusive mode. You'd have to use D3D11 for that.
On other games Exclusive Fullscreen resizes lower resolutions to fill in screen space, many modern games still use Exclusive Fullscreen, I've only seen a few including this that does not support it.
If you have an Nvidia card you could use Nvidia Image Scaling to force it to render at a lower resolution.
