You wont see HDR option unless you have hdr display...RDR2, Hogwarts, Arkam Knights, God of war, forza, the crew motorfest, BG3, diablo 4, Uncharted, every single game that is AAA and a big time game has HDR my friend....i have them all, not skewed at all...of course you need an hdr screen to know what your saying...
I mean the absolutely awful colour banding should also give it away.
Yup noticed that in the steam version...its not present in the gamepass version tho its beautiful...idk if maybe the gamepass version launches in a shell maybe that makes it full screen exclusive so auto hdr works...but whatever is the difference they need to fix the steam version asap im at 52 mins played on steam version so i will refund if its not fixed to look like the gamepass version.
Here is what is happening with the PC version right now - and it is very unlikely that it makes a difference if it's Gamepass or Steam, of that more than 0.01% of the game download between those two stores/launchers, is different at all.
If you have a real HDR display and you launch with Windows in HDR mode, the game launches in HDR mode which is a very promising start. You will be treated to a gorgeous animated start screen of a star peeking from behind a planet screen, which seems to be rendered in-engine not pre-recorded, I think.. and besides this screen rendered in HDR and looks great, the star is very bright and the other side of the planet is jet black.
But once you get in-game, something is wrong. Everything looks washed out and light sources don't cast well.. light. In fact when you look directly at a light source like staring into a characters headlamp, .. how to describe it, the actual light information in what is being rendered is missing.. as if the monitor cannot understand part of the signal being sent to it. And this has definitely happened in other games before, I don't remember which ones on the market that were true HDR and and had this issue but this is not the first time.
Heck it may only be affecting certain displays. I have the Alienware Oled.
Gamepass version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crUdewyDvv4&t
just look at the begining, of course youtube will only show hdr version if you have an hdr monitor, even tho the recording is in hdr on steam version just look at the opening credits letters, very dull and even at main screen, where as even tho it crashesh my recording software on gamepass verison look at the nice bright white text, and auto hdr notification come up...so yea steam version needs fixed.
Well here's the thing, when crunching...adding features like that do not matter, esp. when it's an optional one. Performance is more important and as you can see the game is NOT and was NOT ready for any kind of release.
Nah skewed you only mention AAA cuz its likely mostly what you play.
Most of those games do show HDR with out an HDR monitor though.
Go play anything thats AA or under, most wont have hdr.
But not like it matters.
having a monitor that supports HDR doesnt mean you know what youre talking about. Playing Almost only AAA games doesnt mean every game pretty much has hdr.
I have an HDR 2nd monitor anyways, I see hdr in all games youve mentioned. I dont see it in most AA and under games though. AAA makes up a small percentage of games.
That is literally NOT how hdr in windows works...if its not full screen exclusive auto hdr will not work first off, second just because you have windows hdr enabled does not mean you load the game in hdr if the game does not support/have settings for hdr because windows reads the meta data from the game and if it has no hdr your in sdr mode. Again you can see this in the above 2 examples just in the loading screen. HDR is never active in the steam version at all, it has no meta data.
Tried setting bBorderless=0 and bFull Screen=0 but still no dice.
Get out of here man lmao, super mega baseball 3 has hdr, mx bikes has hdr....i have over 400 games and ALLLLLLLLL of them will activate auto hdr if they dont have native hdr. If you dont have HDR why are you even speaking on something you have no clue about?
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/List_of_games_that_support_high_dynamic_range_display_(HDR)
Likely theres a little more. But this list is tiny.
Youre also lying saying all of your 400 games have HDR, theres not even that many games that support it.
Auto hdr isnt native hdr. You can have fake HDR with anygame. Not native hdr though. Which the post was talking about native HDR.
