Game somehow disabled my GPU
Put together a new comp in the last month, got a premium copy free with my GPU (7900XTX). An hour in, the games audio starts looping and I got a black screen. Restarted comp and found GPU was disabled, took reinstalling drivers and enable/disable a few times in device manager to get it running again. Def not playing this again after that one. Anyone else had issues with it disabling ur drivers on GPU?

Same GPU same exact issue. Brand new PC i9 processor high end gaming mobo too. Drivers up to date. Happened twice. 2nd time I had to unplug the GPU completely and plug it back in before my PC even acknowledged my GPU again. Not playing again until there are confirmed fixes.
Weirdly enough I've had that happen with Half Life Alyx and Cyberpunk yet I've only had "normal" crashes with Starfield.
This is literally the only reason I refuse to touch AMD GPU's. Game after game over the last 5 or so years they have issues. It just isnt worth the headache to save some money. Im no Nvidia fanboy but they do work better with fewer issues.

Yeah ever since I went from a GTX 950 to an RX580 I've had nothing but issues. Thing is the hardware isn't at fault but more the godawful drivers AMD plops out.

I'm planning on building a new PC from scratch in the somewhat near future and I won't be making the same mistake again.

True, its just a shame Nvidia are so much more expensive and you get leass VRAM. Stability is important though.

I had the same issue, the game crashed once I landed at New Atlantis. After the game crashed to the main menu, I received a blue/green screen. I had to power down my pc and restart it, only to get a black screen. I clicked on the monitor settings, only to find out that it’s not connecting to the gpu. I can’t do anything at this point. I’ve rebooted my pc over and over and still get black screen. I believe the gpu is done for. I was trying to play on a i5 7600 with a Nvidia 1060. It sucks knowing that I’ll have to buy a new gpu, motherboard and buy a newer cpu.
6900XT no issues so far... no idea what happend to your sweet 7900XT mate, but i doubt it has anything to do with the game. Probally driver related yes. I also had some issues with the drivers once 6900XT did release.

Pull the card out, clear the motherboards CMOS and re-seat the card. It should fire up again.
Had this happen to a zatoc RTX3080 tho i did play for over 24 hours.. I assume it just burned out, it was only 1.5 yrs old, i blamed the (rather new) manufacturer.. maybe its not them?
Yea you got the 7900 xtx not the 7900 xtx taichi 24 oc

Thats the problem

be honest though, you playing on 4k max settings? you 100% overheated the heat point.
Shouldn't happen unless it was overheating, and even then it should throttle first. I'm guessing your drivers just crashed?

If it did burn out and you did not oc its their fault yes not the game.
It should not be possible to burn out a videocard on stock settings pushing it 100% for a long time. No matter what game or benchmark.

That's not an issue with the game. That's an issue with AMD's drivers and/or your GPU.
