I noticed that too when it wasn't constantly crashing. Usually removing fog is a must in Bethesda games through mods

i really can't tell if this is supposed to be how its meant to look or not

yeah i noticed normally when i launch a game windows will pop up with the "auto hdr" notification, starfield isnt doing it.
makes me wonder if hdr just isnt working but it's weird because the black on the title screen and on the hud looks perfectly fine

The New Atlantis is so foggy. Anyone found a way to reduce the fogginess?

I do use an HDR display (Alienware AW3423DWF), and in the mining area it looks just the same. But I assume it is intentional since it should have dust in a mine. But it seems it launched without proper HDR, the lights have just the color information, not the bright, and all seems kinda washed out.

Sadly it continues further into the game as far as I can tell. Really ruining the visuals and atmosphere. All the interiors look like you have a dozen chain smokers setting back and enjoying the day.

Already downloaded reshade to saturate the colors a bit more

You can use reshade for things like this.

HDR user here and immediately noticed how it looks like it’s running on an old LCD. Reshade presets will be out in no time, which really boosted HDR for me in Skyrim and BG3.

It doesn't take much effort to learn to use reshade yourself without relying mostly on awful and highly over saturated presets, with tons of badly utilized or even redundant effects.

Might try taking the film grain off. Also you can adjust with your GPU software without reshade if you want to wait on that.

Was watching Bawkbasoup steam, he said the same thing. He found setting motion blur to low helped. Might help you.
