Fan thread saying the game doesn't decrypt quickly.
If you have an internet of more than 200mb. No need to preload the game. Since it will take longer to unpack the game than to download it.

If your speed is slower then you did well to preload the game.

Ready to play the best game of this year

Decryption is usually dependent on CPU specs no? Sometimes GPUs are utilized but essentially the decryption should be different for everyone based on their hardware.

It was always that way on Steam. If your internet connection is rather on the faster side, it is, even for big games, often better to download the game when released than preload, especially if you don't have the fastest drives and a high-end cpu.

You're right but people get mad if you say that.

I do as well , but you are limited by steams slow decryption process. It will not unpack at those speeds.

Its a gigantic game. Thats to be expected. It has to decrypt 125 GB of data.

Yes. Decryption takes me like 20-40 minutes depending on the size, which is about the same amount of time as downloading it. Maybe a bit faster or slower, but it is a wash.

But it also is not really dependent on my download speed, so if steam gets slammed it might be a lot faster.

decrypting is a CPU process.Unpacking relies more on the SSD.
