This game compared to it's competition

I'm told that its fallout in space. I'm also told that it's star citizen but single player.
Does anyone have all 3 and can such a person offer some insight into what this game is exactly?

Star citizen and Starfield is a bad comparison. SC is a grand sandbox with no story with a focus on interacting with the world and other players. this is a single player bethesda rpg

It has no competition. It's a Bethesda single player rpg. Nobody else makes games like they do. Not saying they're better or worse, just unique. It's why their games are so popular.

You want to play a game similar to a Bethesda rpg? Nope. Not gonna find one.

They've been doing this for a very long time now and it shows. They tried an experiment with 76 but now they're back to doing what they do best.

Star Citizen is a PvP oriented space flight simulator. There are no quests, there is no purpose, there are only mission boards and combat with other players. The emphasis is on realistic flying ... like Microsoft Flight Simulator ... with combat.

Fallout 4 is a single-player open-world game. There is a main quest, side quests, and radiant quests so that you always have ample purpose should you desire it. All combat is with NPCs.

Starfield is a single-player open-world game just like Fallout 4, only in a space setting. It is not a space flight simulator, so there is no emphasis on flying and you can totally skip that if you like based on what I've seen ... once you've visited a destination.

Fallout in space is probably the best comparison. Mass Effect trilogy is not far off either, maybe, but we have space combat while Mass Effect used cinematics for those.

Star Citizen is incredibly huge in scope and detail, and is far from finished. It is much more focused on immersive and seamless simulation. It might even be ready by 2050.

Starfield is a game you can play and finish this year.

So, enjoy Starfield now, Star Citizen later.

I dont think its a scam. Star Citizen is like a water hose that only gives 1 drop of water per day. You can eventually fill a bucket that way... maybe not you but your grandkids' children can.

I paid for star citizen in 2015. Squadron 42 was to release with in a year that was almost 9 years ago. IF THAT IS NOT A SCAM I don't know what is.

I kinda thinking Mass Effect with more freedom than a space sim. NMS or SC dont come to my mind at all.
