I requested a refund due to the false advertising present in Shroud's stream. It's evident that he is not addressing any issues, as he is being compensated to mislead his audience. Unfortunately, this process has led to the loss of a loyal subscriber. I can only hope that he received adequate compensation for the damage caused to his reputation.

Exercise prudence: consider obtaining a refund and waiting until the game is actually launched (or, more realistically, you might even decide against purchasing it).

Imma go out on a limb and say if you buy anything just because a streamer/youtuber/whatever person has it in their title you don't make the best life decisions anyways.

You should maybe go play a game from the 90s. The graphics from that era haven't aged well for most games. There is no way Starfield is comparable.

Obviously, I am exaggerating a lot on purpose, the engine is from November 2011 (I just checked, they did patch it to include a couple of new features but the core is very old).

To each their own, I wanted to play this game badly but after I saw the stream, the excitement vanished after 30mns of boring combat and empty world.

I hope you enjoy it though, truly.

Are you seriously comparing UE5 (launched in 2022) with their old engine patched to include a couple of new features?

I understand you want this game to succeed and be enjoyable to play, trust me, me too.
But to compare Unreal Engine 5 with this crap is not fair. Each iteration of UE is full of new features and improvements and if you just could take a minute and watch a demo or two on Youtube, you’ll understand why people like it so much.

How much is new code and how much is legacy? Do you know for either engine? Do you know that the Starfield engine was upgraded multiple times over the years, including for Starfield?

You're on an awfully tall, one-sided high-horse there.

And I'm not discounting what's gone on with UE5. It's certainly crushing Unity. But I'm not sure you're presenting reality as it is vs how you want it to be.

I just gave an example
If 1998 doesn't suit you, look at 2004, if it doesn't, look at unreal engine 3. these are just examples, you update something you do by adding a new features on it and it becomes new. Of course, I'm not racing ♥♥♥♥ here, you said that, I said that, but you should go back and check what you wrote. 90s vs starfield impossible comparison, show you hate the game over things you don't like

Please do not trust me or anyone, use your eyes and watch a UE5 demo on Youtube, and then watch one of the streams live right now demonstrating the (in)abilities of Starfield’s engine.

I don’t need to know anything about those engines, I just need to use my eyes to see the obvious difference.
