I read the IGN 7.0 review and it doesn't at all seem balanced

It spends 95% of the time talking about the negative. Giving very little info on what's good. I thought the score was going to be a 4 or under based on what I was reading. I mean a 7.0 is a "good" game with more good than bad. I'm not saying the criticisms are invalid its just the other reviews I read seemed to be more fair in their time spent on the good and bad. Coming from someone who doesn't really care if its a GOTY type game or not.

Why does anyone gaf what IGN or any other mainstream reviewer say? The quality of their reviews have been dogsh*t for years and mainstream journalism is a clash between bribes and personal politics with very little of what they say being at all related to the actual game. Look to smaller publications and reviews on YouTube from regular people who aren't the type to corner cam themselves or make soyfaced titlecards and you'll get a better idea as to the honest quality of the game.

Ya I mean even the other 70-80 score reviews spend more time praising what's good. I know reviews are just personal opinions, but whoever wrote that review did a poor job IMHO.

Yet a 7/10 is considered a good game by IGN standards. And "reviewers" aren't mostly talking about bad stuff. This one reviewer is.

Of course you don't think the IGN review is balanced. You already bought the game and your brain can't cope with your purchase and emotional investment being misplaced. Completely normal behavior. Unfortunately.

Edit: I meant potentially being misplaced, we don't know either way yet.

Regardless of what you think of the game, ignoring scores / reviews from IGN and PCGamer are in your best interest. Just LOOK at the scores they've given to games in the past, and how they market their brand.

Have a listen to the reviewer. He sounds like he's reading from a script. It's a monologue without a change in tempo or timbre like he's there against his will or wants to go back home early.

It probably is a bad review because IGN writers are journalists, not gamers unfort.
