XBOX game pass question

Hey, i know it might be the wrong forum but i'll ask anyway, is there a premium membership or anything so i can play early access version of Starfield on xbox game pass or no? It doesn't seem like it. Again, sorry for posting this on steam, thanks!

there's an upgrade option that you can buy that will work with the "free" game pass version

Can you explain further? I am used to buying game pass and maybe that one time Ultimate game pass, but other than that i am noob, it doesn't say anything about early access via game pass it seems...

You need to buy the $35 Premium Upgrade DLC for Starfield in order to get access to it later today on Game Pass as it will convert that free Game Pass standard edition into the Premium edition with the early access. The problem is you still will not own the base game so if your Game Pass expires and you want to buy the game on Steam down the road, you will have to buy that DLC again on Steam as I do not think it will carry over.

Also, I saw your last post and a lot of Xbox games are Xbox Play Anywhere so the console version also works on the PC, it just will not convert to a Steam version.

If you have game pass for PC the upgrade will still work. Starfield is a Play Anywhere game meaning anything you buy for it is for both PC through the Xbox app and the actual Xbox.

That's why I stopped paying for that service, most games come with DLC nowadays and I'm not gonna pay 30 bucks for DLC for a game I don't own.

yeah, unfortunately I think it's going to be the norm going forward. The new Forza doesn't even have an upgrade option yet for early access, have to buy the $100 version
