But yes, 2 completely different types of RPG's. Baldurs Gate 3 is a more railroaded experience where you don't have too much choice in terms of what you want to do. Starfield is the typical Bethesda RPG, you have sandbox world where you can do as you please. You can ignore the main quest altogether and do other stuff. There are a million different things you can do and and many roleplaying options while as in BG3 you are more limited on who you are. Sure you can pick a race and a class etc. but you are still this one adventurer following the main storyline. Starfield is more open with more possibilities on what you want to do in the game and who you want to be.
I really fail to see all the "deep" character and story stuff people talk about too. The writing is dang near immature all of the time. None of the characters are really deep, they are all one dimensional.
Astarion is always, "Don't stand in my way, I want power"
Gale is always, "I want to sleep with you and the magic goddess, oh, I also want to blow myself up.
The Githraki woman simply hates everyone.
The red Barbarian lady basically just says "F YEAH" to literally everything.
Shadowheart is a text book emo Reddit child.
The game is good, but dang is it overrated as all hell.
It won't win game of the year though. Because the most important piece, "gameplay", isn't actually cared about in game awards.
Cool beans mate. I'll reply back to this post when i've put 10-15 hours into the game, to then report which is best.
Animations, visuals, sound, graphics, performance, optimization, and most of all, how modernized the engine is.
What does that say about the AAA games industry?
That wasn't even BGS that developed that mess, nice try though.
Or a game that isn't even AA, like Dave the Diver, which has my vote for this year so far.
