Costing points isn't the issue; it is the giving of points. If people want to say "you are a clown" that is fine- but the troll they are communicating with shouldn't get jack.

They, awards as a whole, should never have been implemented. Sure, it drives engagement, but was making reviews, the discussion boards, guides, and workshop content basically useless by encouraging ♥♥♥♥ posting really worth it?

I like the idea in theory; I have given people many a random award myself; and since the points are super easy to come across for the most pert it seems like a decent way to say you like it.

But in practise; well; look at this board. The same thing happened with BG3; the same thing likely happens with most major releases. It seems odd.

But then you risk people dogpiling on people who don't deserve it. Zero it out, sure, but taking away points is a dangerous game when you have streamers and "influencers" out there willing to be ♥♥♥♥♥ just for more engagement themselves.
