Considering the popularity of this game, the sheer amount of sales and also unjustified hate from toxic people. Anything is liable to happen on that release time. Steam servers could be overwhelmed, download speeds from steams servers could be extremely slow or the servers could even be offline, Your ISP may even just decide to run maintenance in your area during that time. Who knows, so many variables at play, so many what ifs. My internet speed isn't bad, but I'll go down the preload route and deal with a 15-25 minute unpack to be on the safe side, rather than risking server or internet issues come actual time.

Mine was 116 GB download

That's what mine said at first, but actual download shows as 86.4 GB. The status shows that it downloaded 92.8 GB.
