Planet tiles and Outposts
So if the discussions here about planets and tiles is accurate (which I am fine with) I'm wondering how outposts work.

Say I land on planet for the 1st time and create a outpost, then go out and explore planet taking off landing 4-5 times does the outpost make that tile permanent, can you make multiple outposts on one planet?

There is likely a condition "contains outpost-0" for the cleaning process of a tilespace if said process exists at all.

If that post was accurate(I doubt it), then it would mean most likely we will have a 1 per planet limit to outposts.

i havent looked into much since i want to go in as blind as possible, but if you make an outpost on a tile, their not gonna take that outpost away from you, so it will likely remain permenant so long as that outpost exists, if it can even cease existing. as for multiple outposts on a planet i couldnt tell you, i have heard talk around here that theres a limit of 20 some outposts i think, but i dont know if thats total or per planet.

i can see reasoning behind limiting the amount of temp landing zones loaded at once. if each is the size of fallout 4s external map, your gonna be taxing the engine and your pc if you have too many loaded. its also the most likely reason why theres the boundaries in place, which i would of been suprised, and actually worried, if they didnt have those.

I know they won’t delete the outpost but I wonder if the terrain will change

That's one of the big reasons I'm still hanging around these forums, I need this answered and I would like to know about tile consistency because leaker reports are not consistent.

I’m fine with it either - I kinda like the thought endless random areas to explore.
Hopefully they’ll be interesting enough to explore.
Mods will improve it as well.

I'm fine with outpost being non persistent, like the rest of the planet tiles. It would only make sense, whatever little there is left.

A tile with a player outpost surely must be permanently saved.
There is probably a limit to how many outposts you can build.

EDIT: It won't work to have the outpost stay while the terrain changes. They won't do that. That would make zero sense.

I wonder, if you can place multiple outposts on a planet if you could make a cluster of permanent tiles.

Nobody knows yet but I'm willing to bet there is an outpost limit tied to number of tiles generated. Depending on how tile data is saved it could be a high limit say 50. If tile data is spacious then expect a low number like 15-20. This pure speculation though.

You could build an outpost on the edge of a tile vaguely shaped as Atlantis city from afar. So that when you go there after three landings, you get the illusion of some realism. But then you would have to redo that the next time you land

Uh no, I don't have your need to see a city off in the distance.

Then I guess you wont nee dan outpost neither, so all is fine.

All the gameplay footage i have seen so far the planets look too flat and barren i hope there is more mountains on some planets and the majority of the planets won't be the same flat surface with a different texture.
