Upgrading GPU, which one to choose for recommended req.
My current pc specs is:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
RAM: 32GB DDR4
GPU: GTX 1660 Ti 6GB
MoBo: B450M PCIe 3.0 x16
PSU: 750W w/ 500W AVR
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15
SSD: 1x 1TB M.2, 2x 1TB
Monitor: 1080p HDMI IPS
Case: CG71 PULSE
FAN: 6x 120MM (3x Front, 2x Bottom, 1x Back)

I'm thinking of upgrading my GPU to RTX 4060 Ti 16GB that costs 600$ which is fine for me since I rarely play games that requires high specs. Any suggestion that is better than 4060 Ti 16GB with similar price? Thanks!

Edit: added missing specs details.

My personal opinion is if you've got the money go Nvidia. If you don't go AMD. I just don't buy until I've got the money.

I can't help you choose between 4000 series cards, because I don't squander my money pointlessly like that.

I wouldn’t personally buy the 4060. A better purchase would be the 4080.

This game might run better on AMD. A 6700xt beats the 3070 on AMD sponsored AC Vallhala for instance.

I would say go with a 7700XT or 7800XT as they are faster and cheaper than a 4060Ti

rx6800 16Gb is best partner with 5700x ryzen

4060 is very very power efficient, a very good choice, that saves you money in the long run. also it meets more then recommmend starfield requirements.

a 4060 8 gb might be enought, especially if its its much cheaper.

16 gb might be good, if you have only PCIE 3.0, as 4060 has only 8 lanes and supports PCIE 4.0.

If money does not matter, buy something more powerfull then 4060, as the rest of your system is powerfull.

My opinion would be to look at the 7700 xt or 7800 xt they are cheaper, faster and will get HYPR RX to use in DX11 & DX 12 games

the 4060ti only has lanes for PCIe x8 which is fine if your motherboard supports the newer PCIe 4.0 spec. If your motherboard is PCIe 3.0 consider getting a different card due to the limited bandwidth.

It pretty much depends on the res that person will play. 4K with 4060 is impossible and 3070 for that matter as well. If you're going to play FHD (which is total BS in 2023) then it really doesn't matter what you buy, everything will work.

avoid 4060 series
if you want nvidia:
- 3060 ti or
- 4070
if you want amd ( if you dont care dlss and power consumption)
- 6600 xt, 6700 xt or 6800 xt

price from newegg and amazon
3060 ti: 350-400$ (newegg), 320-380$ (amazon)
4070: 600-670$ (newegg), 600-670$ (amazon)
6600 xt: 270$ (newegg), 270-440$ (amazon)
6700 xt: 340-583$ (newegg), 340-500$ (amazon)
6800 xt: 520-550$ (newegg), 520-550$ (amazon)

4070 costs around $674 here in my place I might consider that.

AMD GPUs are hard to here in the place I live but I will try to look for it.

Ooh I didn't know that, my MOBO is B450M-PLUS II which seems to use PCIe 3.0 x16. does that mean I can't use 4060 Ti 16GB on that mobo?

I don't play with 4K.

I would go for a used 3080

If your PCIe bus doesn't support 4.0, any devices will simply run at 3.0 speeds. They are all pretty much backwards compatible.

I wouldn't get the 4060.

This sounds about right unless they are overpriced, which they probably are right now.

I would also check out the 7700 xt or 7800 xt as mentioned. I can't say they are proven though so Buyer Beware. (I saw your posts on AMD access. So Scratch That)

Sounds like 4070 then.

4070 if you can afford it or the 4060 Ti, both will work fine up to 1440p.
