Chrono Trigger, in 1995, was $80+ in the USA. Adjust for inflation, that's $160 today.
That's $271 in New Zealand Dollars. I don't know how much Chrono Trigger cost in New Zealand. But I suspect it was far more expensive than this game.
People ignore inflation when bellyaching about video game prices. In reality, video game price inflation has made the costs in fact LOWER today than in the past.
Also, Chrono Trigger was an extremely hyped game. And it was worth it.
