The 'excuse' that it's not interesting and not what the game is built around.
It's built around having a jetpack.
And? It's a space game with shooting elements by the Doom team. If you want land vehicles you can always play Start Citizen or Elite Dangerous.
Why would they? The survey scans all the planet and you just land where you need to..
and? id Software has games with vehicles in them, why are you suggesting that because the game is a FPS it doesn't have room for vehicles anymore? its 2023 you can more than one feature.
Since we will be exploring horizontal landscapes, how was Starfield built around a jetpack?

You really want another Rage? Welp perhaps Star Citizen is the right game for you.
