SSD Required?

Is it really? I have one with lots of space but just curious if it's really required as stated in the system specs.

it's required if you don't want to sit there looking at loading screens for minutes at a time

probably helps for texture streaming too

Based on what Pete Hines said, you cannot play this without a solid state drive. Whether he meant it wouldn't run well, or at all, not sure.

According to the manufacturer, the game can only be installed on an SSD. But even for kids with pocket money, that shouldn't be a problem. They throw those things at you anyway. Not expensive.

In the interview at Gamescom, it was stated that you NEED an SSD to be able to play the game. I'm not sure if that's a matter of interpretation.

that doesn't mean you can't install it on a mechanical drive, that's not how computers work

Actually, it's entirely possible. Just pull the hardware ID, and compare it to a list. The question becomes, why go to that much effort? If folks want to install the game to a mechanical harddrive, sure, fine, go right ahead, but, try not to act surprised when the game runs terrible.

has nothing to do with whether it's possible or not, it's not a thing on pc, only on consoles

Ok, you totally lost me there. Neither xbox even HAS an HDD..... and even the most powerful computer won't be able to run the game worth beans from an HDD.

I had to reformat My C:\ drive as it is small 230gb hope it is big enough and with Creation club content hope my tiny itty bitty hdd is big enough have to upgrade to bigger soon also only PCIe 3 which is a P.I.T.A.
