Intelligent Alien Life?
Is there any intelligent alien life in Starfield? The only thing I've seen are just beast-like bug/dino creatures you shoot at.

Isn't this supposed to be a sci-fi game? Couldn't they just take an ugly Argonian model and tweek it a little?

The artifacts you're looking for come from aliens, so the storyline probably involves trying to find them, or what happened to them, and anything else they left behind.

Plus this is a new IP. The actual area the game takes place in is pretty small from a galactic standpoint, so it's possible that there are going to be new games later on where they do implement intelligent aliens.

There are plenty of sci-fi universes & stories that don't have intelligent aliens. Either because they died out, or because it's a more 'realistic'-level sci-fi.
(kind of like there's both high-magic and low-magic fantasy.)

I've seen plenty of sci-fi that explores humanity venturing into the stars to learn more about an ancient & extinct alien race. In those stories though it's always exclusively a human story.

From what I've seen in Starfield, it explores that alien life exists, even as complex organisms, but never as an intelligent organism. That is what doesn't make sense to me. It's not really a quest to find alien life. It's right over there. It just isn't intelligent. It's more akin to a boar that looks a little funny.

There is intelligent alien life everywhere, they just happen to be humans alien to earth which is now dead.

Seriously though the games plot is all about following the footsteps of some aliens. Whether we meet them alive or not remains to be seen. I just really hope this game isn't yet another "Answer to the Fermi paradox" game. (ie where are all the aliens in the universe? Oh that's what happened to them. Think Mass Effect, No Man's Sky and Dead Space)

I feel like if theres going to be intelligent aliens in the game, it will come in the form of a DLC.

if you think about it we are the only ones who are dumb as we still are stuck doing the same things and can not get over our same problems for the time we have been on earth.

so intelligent alien you ask many of the creatures will be far Superior compared to us

I think about the game Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (by Firaxis Games) - the initial game was just various human factions colonizing the planet Chiron. but in the next game in the series, Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire. aliens were introduced who also colonize Chiron in opposition to humans. So, as others have said, it would seem to be a possibility that intelligent alien life could be introduced in an upcoming DLC (if it's not present already at some point in the initial release).

If that is what Shattered space is then I want a refund as that absolutely would feel like cut content that could have been in the game.

I'm crossing my fingers there are and they have only shown the beginning of the story. Humans only (and I count extinct mystery aliens as adjacent to that) would be the most rock bottom boring take they could do, so I'm hoping for some great twists.

I'm still excited either way. I'm glad I'm not alone though. When Todd Howard mentioned how epic the game is, and then they showed it with no signs of intelligent alien life, I was surprised and disappointed. If it's all under wraps that would be great.

I am hoping for a human-centered story that would match the NASApunk style. Humanoid intelligent aliens in the galaxy are just so overused in media.

I can't think of any other media with this style with aliens. So I'd argue the opposite. I suppose we'll see soon enough.

Entire point of the game is finding the intelligent life.
