30 is fine, your eyes usually adjust to it after 5-10 minutes if it's a first play. 60 is nominal, and my preference, but Bloodborne ran fine at 30, as well. No issues there for me.

Unless you're one of those people who become nauseous at anything below 80 FPS.

25 fps and above is playable... xbox is a ♥♥♥♥ console and you should not play PC master race games on a console... I spent over a decade playing on old HW cuz I couldnt afford a real gaming PC and when I look back on PS1 era and my first PC besides it, yeah I played Assassins Creed 1 on my PC at 25 to 30 fps... the only game where you gain something from high FPS are competitive shooters like CSGO, CoD, Quake, Overwatch and so on... any story based offline game doesnt require you to have 100ms better reaction time cuz you are playing against AI which has reaction times accordingly to what devs programmed them to be or if a mod adjusts that, then its on you... I play FO4 maxxed out with 2K textures at around 90 fps on my RTX 4060 and once I accidentally ran the game on intel integrated UHD GPU and the game ran at 30 to 40 and I barely noticed but since my game is heavily modified around settlements and such, my fps dropped to 20 and then I noticed a stutter here and there... Mind that some games are unplayable at more that 30 to 60 fps due to screen tearing and such (bad optimization) so dont get your hopes up on Starfield and I do hope we get some raytracing and wont be held back by last gen consoles and their 10 years old HW...

To sum it up, 30 FPS is perfectly playable and for most people its the golden spot to play at...

i mean i personally could play 30fps if i really needed to, but i would HAVE to play it on controller, playing at 30FPS on a mouse feels disgusting, controllers however can make it still feel "smooth"

for many many years we played at 30fps most movies play around 24fps.

i uncapped fallout 4 and it became a unplayable mess. vsync is there for a reason and many games need it turned on.

30 fps is for consoles more thann enough. you wont notice it on a tv screen, because you dont sit 40 cm in front of it.
Well my main tell on 30fps is the input delay, some games do it well and others do it terribly.

If that is the case for you, that means you should either wear glasses or stop playing games due to unfit health conditions (most likely epilepsy) and you should consult anything with your doctor before you play/watch. Most movies are at 24 fps, high majority of youtube vids are 24, 25, 30 fps and some are nowdays 720p 60 (and higher resolutions too)... which would meant that you cant watch anything on the internet/tv/phone... You have a serious health condition mate so go and seek a doctor and dont play games and no videos/movies until your doctor tells you what you can or cannot do... cheers

Oh my, no. I omitted context in that post assuming that most people would be familiar with the background. My mistake.

There is an abundance of forum posts about FPS and I also questioned those people about it, since it's very bizarre. While I do wear glasses some of the time, my health is perfectly fine.

For clarity, I can view anything just fine. 30 FPS, 15 FPS, 62 FPS etc.

imo its ofc not unplayable, its just very unenjoyable to me. Doesn't feel next-gen at all when my game feels sluggish and the animations look slower cause of the framerate. Quite frankly $70 for shipping with 30 fps for any game to me is not acceptable, same with adding features months down the line and not having it at launch (not saying SF is said to have that, idk if they are or not).

I would be very happy if I can play the game with a stable 60 fps on my pc.

30 frames is a bit low on a 43" monitor, noticeable jank, buuuut if it's a choice between frame rate and every setting on ultra + enb maxed, i'm taking the ultra/enb and accept the framerate drop, at least until the aesthetic is normalised/worn and then i switch back to the relief of full frame rate.
