Those use to say "You wouldn't download a car"
And I was always like... I would if I could!
As far as stats go with pirating vs non-pirating... I see both sides. People say it doesn't hurt the sales then quote games like BG3 which already had a MASSIVE following before it even actually released. Other games that are not as popular are not so lucky - but those devs tend to want people to play their games if people don't have the money because it's better to get some attention than none at all.
This has put a lot of the games industry in a weird spot because on one hand - AAA games loaded with DRM are more positively affected most of the time, losing out on only a tiny bit of sales. Smaller studios miss out on money they need because people pirate their games, but understand it might play to their favor later down the line when they release a sequel a bunch of people who pirated the first game think "Damn, they're making a sequel?! I should give it a shot!"
I've personally always been 50/50 on games I've pirated in my later years. Younger me definitely didn't buy crap and pirated everything. Older me wants to support developers when I can, but I'm not always made of money - especially lately.
-I've heard from a friend !
The Friend tell me, however, that a game as large as Starfields, will take DAYS to download. He tells me that there will be way-to-many leachers (people trying to download the torrent) compared w. the extremely few (perhaps only 1 the first many hours) who seeds (provides the full data of the cracked game). Therefore.... it may very well be possible - that the game is NOT avaliabe in reality before some days after the pirated torrent is uploaded.
The Friend also tells me that torrents often work as 'demos', and that he and others buy the game if they are satisfied w. the product.
Btw. by odd coincidence my Friend has the same initials as me. What-do-you-know!!

i am happy to hear my game isn't being held back to stop non paying customers.
Similar to how some people have millions in their banks accounts and I dont.. why cant i just take it..
So wrong and always love the people who think they have any clue about this at all.
The exe is availabe, encrypted for the ms-store version since the pre-load and it has no denuvo. The exe wont magically change to a 500mb one last minute, its final.
Microsoft also has a verfication process, you cant just change files last minute or "queue" them to be changed at a given time.
You and everyone will end up buying Starfield.
People who advocate for DRM didn't forget about games like Baldur's Gate 3, The Witcher 3, or literally anything that Sony has released on the PC, they just don't want to acknowledge them.
It most likely won't have Denuvo. The preload .exe is 90MB.
It must be a while since you've been up to date with pirated games...
Most of the time now it's very easy to find only the updates, and no need to download the whole game every time there's a new update.
What's more, I've never had a problem adding Nexus mods to pirated games....
That time is over.
Please think about getting the right information.
Instead of writing crap.
