PIRATES and TORRENT???
Forgive my bad English.

Dear developers, explain to me WHY buy a regular edition if the game comes out without protection?

I will explain my logic.
The premium edition will be available on September 1. If the game does not have DRM protection, then on the SAME DAY it will appear on pirated torrents!!!!! That is, people who BOUGHT a standard edition will be able to play 5 days later than pirates???!!!

In any case, I bought myself a premium edition, such games are released too rarely, in order to save on them)

It will more than likely have Denuvo they just won't announce it till the last minute as EA did that with Immortals of Aveum and I think that's what caused the bad framerate was the poor implementation of Denuvo. That's why with this i'm just subbing to Game Pass as i'm not spending over 100 bucks to find out it runs just as poorly.

that reminds me of the shortfilm just before the main movie on old dvd's :winter2019joyfultearssnowman:

Those use to say "You wouldn't download a car"

And I was always like... I would if I could!

To actually add to this conversation - any form of modern DRM often gets in way of the game. This has been proven time and time again since Denuvo (and most other DRM) is doing checks constantly to monitor how you're playing the game which means that precious CPU cycles have to be spent on Denuvo making sure you're playing legitimately instead of the game itself.

As far as stats go with pirating vs non-pirating... I see both sides. People say it doesn't hurt the sales then quote games like BG3 which already had a MASSIVE following before it even actually released. Other games that are not as popular are not so lucky - but those devs tend to want people to play their games if people don't have the money because it's better to get some attention than none at all.

This has put a lot of the games industry in a weird spot because on one hand - AAA games loaded with DRM are more positively affected most of the time, losing out on only a tiny bit of sales. Smaller studios miss out on money they need because people pirate their games, but understand it might play to their favor later down the line when they release a sequel a bunch of people who pirated the first game think "Damn, they're making a sequel?! I should give it a shot!"

I've personally always been 50/50 on games I've pirated in my later years. Younger me definitely didn't buy crap and pirated everything. Older me wants to support developers when I can, but I'm not always made of money - especially lately.

.... Torrenting' is the Way to Go :- ))

-I've heard from a friend !

The Friend tell me, however, that a game as large as Starfields, will take DAYS to download. He tells me that there will be way-to-many leachers (people trying to download the torrent) compared w. the extremely few (perhaps only 1 the first many hours) who seeds (provides the full data of the cracked game). Therefore.... it may very well be possible - that the game is NOT avaliabe in reality before some days after the pirated torrent is uploaded.

The Friend also tells me that torrents often work as 'demos', and that he and others buy the game if they are satisfied w. the product.

Btw. by odd coincidence my Friend has the same initials as me. What-do-you-know!!

drm usually hurts the paying customer more. because pirates remove it and have better performing game with less issues, because modern drm are very invasive.
i am happy to hear my game isn't being held back to stop non paying customers.

So wrong and always love the people who think they have any clue about this at all.
The exe is availabe, encrypted for the ms-store version since the pre-load and it has no denuvo. The exe wont magically change to a 500mb one last minute, its final.
Microsoft also has a verfication process, you cant just change files last minute or "queue" them to be changed at a given time.

Mark muh words!
You and everyone will end up buying Starfield.

It's like people completely forgot that BG3 broke all kinds of records without DRM.
MROOD Aug 31, 2023 @ 2:34pm
pretty sure this game will have denuvo so it cannot be pirated

People who advocate for DRM didn't forget about games like Baldur's Gate 3, The Witcher 3, or literally anything that Sony has released on the PC, they just don't want to acknowledge them.

It most likely won't have Denuvo. The preload .exe is 90MB.

Imagine having to download 125gb every time a patch is released, pirates or not they have more trouble especially when it comes to modding, many modding tools require you to own the game otherwise you cannot use it.

It must be a while since you've been up to date with pirated games...

Most of the time now it's very easy to find only the updates, and no need to download the whole game every time there's a new update.

What's more, I've never had a problem adding Nexus mods to pirated games....

That time is over.
Please think about getting the right information.

Instead of writing crap.

friend, it is not because it is posted that it will be functional, what else is out there is a torrent with a password for you to fill your pc with crap trying to break it, there is no game unlocked on the first day with or without drm.
Zavia Aug 31, 2023 @ 7:57pm
Haha hilarious crying by a poor little ♥♥♥♥.. funny that it is easy to download when you have a 1Gig connection.. took 4 minutes to get cracked.. the kind of turd who gets game bans is far worse than a pirate.. 3rd world trash
