True, I don't mind nudity in a video game, I even want to see it even more. I mean, we have violence in video games, why not nudity aswell?
But it needs to fit the world, it needs to contribute something to the whole atmosphere. You already gave a great example. To have a immersive world, you need to have many aspects in a game like what we have in real-life. One of those things is indeed a strip club, which you see also a lot in sci-fi games and movies. And if we have stripper models running around wearing full clothes, then I doesn't make any sense.
But just a nude mod, nah... It doesn't really contributes anything to the story, atmosphere or whatever.
The general consensus was that it would definitely be a thing by the end of week one.
Turns out it took only some hours or so. If I recall correctly, someone used a hexeditor to locate the correct texture path, and then made a replacement.
It was pretty basic affair, but still a day one nude mod.
With Starfield, given the leaps and bounds the knowledge base of the modding community has grown in regards to Beth game architecture, I see it perfectly plausible that someone will spend their first day to jerry-rig a nude mod for Starfield, just to claim credit for being the first to do it.
p.s. - so I decided to google the thing and refresh my memory on the incident - turns out it was 17 minutes. At least according to www nakedskins. com where I even found some pics of it ingame. Don't remember if it really was that fast, but it definitely was a thing making the rounds on the forums 12 hours after launch.
Some are already reporting PureDark got a review code or test code, so DLSS type mod might be on release day however not confirmed.
As for OP,
I absolutely expect there to be the most essential mods on day 1. Likely nothing high-quality like CBBE, but something basic like a cobbled together texture replacement? Definitely.
I could be wrong.
I think?
All I have to say to this is... yes... case and point... a ground vehicle to store in your ship...
I play to enjoy myself... So I have come to enjoy the perk, xp, and other game play enhancements.
Nobody in their right mind actually believes them to be essential.
That said, if people choose to use them - no harm in it, is there? It's not like they're installing it on your game.
