Looting the Dead
In the likes of Skyrim and Fallout you could loot most enemies of everything in their inventory, leaving them in nothing but their underwear.

Of the few times they've shown the inventory of enemies in Starfield, it doesn't appear their clothing or weapons can be taken. Does anyone know if this has been confirmed anywhere?

I'm not too concerned if that is the case, but it would mean a bit of a change to how we aquire new armour/clothes and weapons. I imagine it would be a matter of chance if an enemy had an item of that type that you could take.
It also means no leaveing rooms of enemies in their underwear as a warning to others.

I sure as hell hope not. Looting every single piece of clothing from all your fallen enemies to either keep as trophies, to sell for money, or just to send a message is an irrevocable part of a Bethesda RPG experience. I'd be disappointed if their looting system took a step towards something akin to Bioshock. Either way, I wouldn't be too worried as this is definitely something modders will come up with as a "fix" in the first few days if this was ever the case.

I did notice the lack of suits in inventory, I guess it's to control progression or something. Not my favourite system but eh, I can live with it.

there might be a reason, why we cant loot enemy spacesuits.

If in space and we loot their spacesuits, the corpses will of course be exposed to space. I guess in that case they can't be bothered in making the corpses bloat. And if they didn't some people would be complaining it's not realistic enough or something

I for one am looking forward to pulling my loot around behind me in my red Radio-Flyer wagon, which has been sufficiently NASApunkified, of course, because clearly that is the only way Bethesda could make sense of carrying so much stuff while wearing a space suit.

I imagine this is to make space suits more of a special item, there is also a logical reason for it, a space suit with holes in it is essentially trash.

I guess, the reason behind not being able to loot space suits is, to not get overpowered in the game.

Plus, if you can't loot their clothes, how would you get naked corpses to decorate the battlefield with! /innocentwhistle

:D

(edit: it was always amusing, in Fallout 3, piling raider corpses on the worktable in front of the BoS scribes in. . . Arlington Library?. . . :D)

They could give you the suit when you do a headshot and the helmet if you shot the body/heart etc.

Haven't seen much footage of bathrooms, so I'm not bummed at all that I can't loot some other person's spacesuit.
