i7-13700f and 3060 12gb or play on my Series X?
I know I know talking about consoles on steam what blasphemy. Im a pretty casual gamer and prefer eye candy over FPS on single player and immersion-heavy games so I was wondering if i was better off running Starfield at Upscaled Resolution at 30fps on my console or using my PC.

I have the 12gb 3060 but I heard it might be a bit underpowered for Starfield but is my CPU adequate to run the game?

For a brand new gaming rig?

16 GB VRAM GPU and 12 cores CPU is the new gold standard.

At least If you want to avoid diapointments in the next few years.

Who in the world told you a 3060 is underpowered for starrfield? Considering the only ones that knows what is required right now is microsoft, and they already posted what you'd need to play it, why would you think a 3060 isn't enough? Now it will depend on the settings you want mind you, but your system should run the game pretty damn well if the specs are anything to go by.

hahaha no. 12gb vram are fine if you plan to play at 1080p and 12 cores are not needed unless you are running workstation related tasks 24/7 for a living.

again can you stop spreading misinformation about cpu?

Series X for 4K 30FPS.
Your PC for maybe around 40-60FPS with FSR on 1440P
60FPS most likely with 1080p

I think a 3060 has more cowbell than a console gpu so you're probably going to get a better frame rate with a 3060. the gpu probably draws more power by itself than the entire ps5 or xbox console.

wasn't there news that series x runs at 1290p upscaled to 4k and running at 30fps?

Didn't even mention the OP's question considering consoles.

Consoles are f***ing trash

We will have to see if they come out with an info graphic showing more information on what can run at x FPS at x resolution.

Also FSR at 4K may not be a very pleasurable experience on a 3060 without DLSS vs using his console.

The console may end up more fined tuned than the PC experience at launch.

PC, better modding and thus a better future experience, even if current one is slightly worse, which it likely won't be based on specs. CPU exceeds recommended by a good margin, gpu is somewhere inbetween.

PC, you have more options and more settings. also if you want to use mods

OP that is actually a way better computer than most will bring to this game.
An you are asking if you should play it on console.

What monitor are you using vs what television will you be using on your console device?

For the most part, the RTX 3060 it is still a nice GPU but in reality it is a nice place holder GPU for something much better especially in such a nice PC as that.
Upgrade GPU's would be something like 4070/4070Ti, RT 7800xt, RT 7900xt, RT 7900xtx, RTX 4080, and finally the most powerful of them all RTX 4090.
In about that order, those are all the GPU's that you might realistically consider moving to from the RTX 3060 if you understood the tech specs as well as I do and balance it against cost an gain.

Get a month of game pass and try it on both. Isn't the Series X in the ballpark of the 2070? The 3060 should perform a little better than the 2070 so...

However, I'm getting vibes from the game that a more capable cpu might be beneficial and I'm pretty sure your 13700f is going to outperform the Series X on that front.

But as someone else mentioned, the game is likely going to be pretty well optimized on console, at least right out the gate. I don't know how much time I'd want to put in on the Xbox though considering the modding options down the road on pc will likely embarrass the Xbox.

Any graphics card with a 60 in the end is trash, dude.

Let's start a console war, at the ... bar ... bar ... bar.
Rhila Aug 18, 2023 @ 5:35pm
the game engine is bad, same engine from Fallout 76, low and max settings same FPS, high end or mid range GPU same FPS, because the engine doesn't use the full power of your hardware.
your GPU is fine as long as it has enough VRAM.
