But Starfield isnt a game to play on low settings.
That's why I ditched my beloved 1060-6GB-Desktop that I ran for almost SEVEN years and bought me this:
Ryzen 9 7900
Radeon RX 6800 16GB VRAM
AMD B650
32 GB RAM
Nah, higher power consumption and only 8 cores.
The Ryzen 9 7900 has 12 cores. Much better in the long run.
Well, it all depends on the game developers. If they decide to design their games along CPUs with more than 8 cores, they can start doing that at any moment.
Because with a little intelligence it is possible to play a game even below the minimum requirements, so people ask for advice. Unless you want to buy me a 4070 TI with zelensky's money
I am also wondering if this is going to work, or not at all.
Personally i'm running it on a GTX 1070 with 8Gb of VRam at 1080p on medium settings with resolution scaling disabled (Which defaults to 50% at the standard medium graphics quality settings).
Performance in large, open zones (Cities mostly) is strained with the game struggling to reach a consistent 30FPS (It tends to hoven between 28 and 33). In-door area's are mostly fine though, and tend to reach 40-60 FPS (Capped at 60 for me, so it could be higher). What you REALLY need is an SSD drive though. Installing the game on a regular HDD leads to choppy audio and gameplay due to the amount of asset loading the game has to do.
It may work for you if you drop the visual settings to low to conserve VRam and fiddle with the settings a bit. Just be aware that the game look... rather bad when FSR2 is used in combination with low settings, and that you should decide for yourself if you can stomach that in combination with a 30 FPS refresh rate.
