DLSS & FSR2 Comparisons
Just posting some comparison shots in No Man's Sky in case anyone is really worried about quality. I've always bought NVIDIA GPUS and these screen shots are with a 4090. If anyone else could post some so we could get a nice groups of comparisons please do. In No Man's Sky I'm not seeing a lot of differences tbh...

What resolution is your monitor and the rest of your rigs specs?

DLSS 3 works even with a CPU bottleneck, which by the sounds of things, this game is going to be VERY CPU intensive so DLSS 3 would actually be a huge benefit. I think the game might have RT Global illumination but thats speculation from my part.

you should be just fine with that but anything newer will obviously make it a better experience for you

This will indeed be a very CPU heavy game and FG is awesome for that. But it wont be in.

Starting at 1440p DLSSp (or 1080p DLSSq since they are the "same thing"), DLSS wins in every scenario by a landslide.

Just accept it so we can naturally evolve PC gaming. This is ridiculous. You understand AMD does not deny meme marketing and has plants in every single major forum and subreddit to propagate vram issues and FSR vs DLSS?

DLSS has its own hardware ffs!

Todd literally said the Creation Engine was rebuilt based on AMD hardware as the focus.

This game will run best with FSR because the game engine is built exclusively for it.

No amount of crying from the Nvidia fanbois will change that.

Forcing DLSS on Starfield would most likely produce artifacts and ghosting. It would degrade the graphical fidelity instead of enhancing it.

Tried FSR and DLSS on TW3 and I have to say FSR looks kinda bad in 1080p and FSR Quality (you can spot it's below the 1080p and the image looks weird), while DLSS looked way better in Quality mode (with just a little sharpness adjustement, it looks almost same as native res).

Yea FSR doesn't really do that good at 1080p it holds up a lot better at 1440p and 4K

as long as I can play the game. I could care less for either, not into all this DLSS or the FSR2 rubbish, I turn the game on it loads up and I am playing. That to me is a done deal

This is simply ignorance. FSR output is garbage when compared to both DLSS and XeSS. This is exactly why AMD use sponsorship/bribe money to exclude superior competing tech, the side by side comparisson. Now no one is saying FSR should be removed. Those with 6.5+ year old GPUs and those who made the mistake of buying AMD GPUs have to rely on the poor Quality FSR option. But those with a modern RTX GPU (2,3 or 4000 series) would choose DLSS due to vastly superior image quality. Those with a modern Intel GPU would choose XeSS again due to vastly superior image quality.

I find it incredible to see PC users challenging the use of modern PC graphics and indeed openly preferring the poor quality provided by AMD GPUs.

What happens when a hardware vendor, AMD, spends their development money bribing developers rather than spending on developing the product? 8% market share and AMD’s Promised Performance-Boosting “HYPR-RX” Technology Misses Launch Schedule - https://wccftech.com/amd-promised-performance-boosting-hypr-rx-technology-misses-launch-schedule/

AMD's HYPR-RX technology is still nowhere to be seen, even though the company pledged an H1 2023 launch. The company also announced FSR 3 "FidelityFX Super Resolution 3" the same day as HYPR-RX but there's no word when it would launch either. One of AMD's biggest sponsored titles, Starfield, only supports FSR 2 which means that until at least Q3 2023, we aren't going to see the new upscaling tech in action.

FSR 3? Do we really need 3rd generation garbage? Come on guys, we should demand better on PC.

this thread is clearly about starfield not having DLSS, but FSR to use, because of the cooperation with AMD. I have not seen any information from bethesda, that the game will not have DLSS. just to say.

The intention for many, including myself, posting negatively on AMD's exclusivity announcement is to make Bethesda/Microsoft reconsider the inclusion of modern PC tech such as DLSS and XeSS. I wish we could do the same for RT with the result being akin to CP2077's Overdrive option but that would require development time.

the wish is noble, but whats to achieve in steam game forums for that matter? or said otherwise, I doubt, microsoft/bethesda will read here and say "oh my, what a cool idea!".

Who's restricting the discussion to just Steam? As you can see from the OP that the general tech sites have picked up on this. Social media is alive and well.

yeah, you are right - the chance is there, but slim, IMO.

I'm not concerned about Starfield since Nvidia GPUs also use FSR2. Also, in that first set of W3 images DLSS was set at quality while the FSR2 was set at performance. I set them both quality and the game looks nearly identical. Running around in the game I can't tell the difference so... /shrug

I could clearly see the difference between the two in The Witcher 3. Did you have Sharpness set to High? For me, DLSS was very noticeably sharper than FSR. Both where set to Quality.

Got to keep up the pressure or else we, as PC gamers, lose out.
