How are you going to avoid spoilers?
Some crazy achievement oriented gamer out there will finish the main quest line before even the official release. On the flip side are gamers like me where I take my sweet time and smell the alien flowers when I play so avoiding spoilers in Starfield is a big concern for me - and likely will be for a long time.

Are you planning on taking steps to avoid spoilers?

I think I’m going to stay off the forums and social media for a while. Maybe quite a while. The worst will be gaming media articles with spoilers in the headlines. That got me a few spoilers in previous games especially when they just pop up in my Google feed. And as big of a deal as this title is there will be LOTS of articles all over the place.

The worst is when these people assume that everyone must know something by a certain point in time. This happened to me with Arthur’s fate in RDR2 which was right in an article headline in 2021 during my first play through. I never would have guessed that Arthur would end his adventures by joining a traveling minstrel show if it hadn’t been spoiled for me.😡

i don't care about spoilers in a bethesda game, their stories and plot "twists" are always garbage and can be seen a mile away

The best is to make a separate discussion section that you chose here on the right, there is a spoiler section in the NMS Steam forum, so why not here...

Yeah I am pretty sure just based off the trailers I can tell you the general flow of the game right now. The details (who's and why's) may be lacking. But I am pretty sure the (whats, hows, and wheres will be dead on or really close).

Here is a gimme

No seriously don't look if you care at all

Spoiler: Pretty sure the Rich guy financing constellation betrays you at some point and tries or does steal the artifact(s)

its pretty easy to not get spoiled.. dont read the forums, dont watch youtube videos about starfield.

Unless you have some ♥♥♥♥ friend who just spoil it all for you, its not really hard to avoid it.

This right is the most social media I interact with and the most on youtube I'll see it a picture edited with so much stuff on it I won't be able to tell what I'm looking at lol I don't have any actual social media like Facebook & Twitter at all and I'm 27 glad I grew up in a farm in the middle of nowhere in Ohio.

I don't mind spoilers.

I'm not necessarily going to avoid them, but hopefully people use spoiler tags on the forum where appropriate.

If there is one consistent that you can always count on from the video game industry, after over 50-years of video game design,

It's bad writing.

Not that I won't get a chuckle or two out of this whole dog and pony show, but spoilers certainly won't happen. Not for a game this jumbo. It can't be spoiled in early September. Everybody will be playing.

Aside from the PlayStation scrubs.

And anybody using a 4GB or 8GB video card.

I made a PSA about this, which in itself was supposed to be funny :), but i really think not finishing the story or watching any spoilers and just relaxing and having fun is really great.

I don't mind spoilers in forums, my eye is well trained at skipping text I don't want to read. I can't explain it, but it's like my subconscious reads-ahead, and I just know when to skip over things.

I am actively going to avoid watching any and all videos and streams for a while though, as those would be the worst spoilers.

I'll read the strategy guide like I do with all Bethesda games. Then go off and do all the side quests before I take on like 1/2 the main quests just like in any Bethesda game. Other than the beginning before character creation and the artifacts-relics and factions that is spoilers enough.

Don't do "social" media or streamers or Youtube to start with, so all I'll need to do is avoid this forum. And maybe Kotaku, although they're generally pretty good about not putting stuff in headlines. (plus they're blacklisted by Bethesda for reporting leaks, so they don't get advance review copies from Beth anymore.)

. . . thinking about it, that 5-day headstart is going to be a bit annoying that way.

Can't spoil something this good.

Think about it. If someone opened an amazing pizza joint and someone you knew ate there and told you the pizza was good, would that mean you can't eat there now cause they 'spoiled' it?

By playing it "5 days early" on the actual launch day; September 1st.
