More of a case where people like you do not even know that Steam consider them to be different things. But you clearly know everything.
There are no pre-orders on Steam. There are pre-purchases.
You are charged as soon as you order the game.
He knows the difference.
He just meant that whatever you choose to call it, it won't matter in the end. It'll just be a lot of typing and banter for nothing.
But I'm with you. Let's call it a pre-purchase.
A pre-purchase of Starfield sounds absolutely wonderful.
Lol,
I was simply referring specifically to the current situation with Starfield and the stupid mini-war going on between people here. No need to be a ♥♥♥♥ about it...
There was not a mini-war over the meaning of PO and PP. You named it that.
I commented because I saw that many were confused over a term that even Steam took the time to clarify. And I imagine they wasted the time and effort because they saw a good reason for it. But what does Steam know compared to you!!
You jumped the gun.
The dictionary differentiates the terms as either payment for a service (preorder) or payment for an item (prepurchase).
In the end, the meaning is the same, as in you acquire something by paying in advance.
Pre-purchasing is technically the correct literal term but pre-ordering is also valid.
This is the kind of post I was referring to.
PLEASE READ - Steam has taken the time to clarify in print the difference because there was confusion. And I imagine they did it fir a good reason.
But we now have another expert that knows better then Steam. :)
You jumped the gun.
If the premise of your specific argument to me was flawed to start with..................
