I regret investing into star citizen
This game has every feature star citizen has been working on for 10 years in a single player campaign.

I feel sorry for those who paid thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars for pixels that can be easily destroyed while playing the game. It's not much different than NFTs.

I am gonna play them both, with a smile on my face. Because I know that the video game space race is real , and hopefully the players will be the winners from competing companies. Innovations from several studios should be inspired by such competition.

I regret as well. Star citizen has no plans to come anytime soon. They wont even show their single player campaign because there is nothing to show yet. I actually like that Starfield has no seamless planet landing. Doing that on SC and ED takes way too much time.

I don't feel sorry for them at all. If one is dumb enough to do that who am I to care for their 'regrets'. That is their own bloody fault.

Scam Citizen got me too. It's just financing his lifestyle now, that's why he doesn't release anything bc then it's over.

Why would anything be over when they release the game? You do know they have nearly 700 employees that they have to pay right? It's not like Chris Roberts is just pocketing all of the money used for the game. Hell, they release their financial data publicly every year and they have no legal obligation to do so.

Roberts has bought yachts, mansions, jets...he's sure living it up on gamer's hopes and dreams. I don't think he started it to scam people but that's what it's become.

The game couldn't be this profitable if they actually finished it. So it won't get finished. Not until people stop paying Roberts to not finish it (and, at this point, probably not with Chris Roberts at all).

Yup, exactly my thoughts OP, after watching the direct.

At least I can say that I'm glad that the amount that I burned into SC was just a mere 100 bucks, imagine all those peeps that invested whole sacks of grands, buying into every delusion speech by Chris Roberts with nothing to back it up.

If it wasn't for Microsoft pressure in due time, CR would have never released famous Freelancer at all, the guy hates deadlines, but you need them in order to actually release a project. That's the logic surrounding SC, no deadlines whatsoever, you can see the actual results of that.

After all these years, their plan is just that, releasing tiny buggy features that corrupts even more the base tech client, sometimes making the "game" even unplayable, just to justify they are doing something to their players, while keeping selling all those overcharged ships.
What's worse, and it is the part that makes me a lot of noise, they also sell mere concepts of notdeveloped ships at all, literally throwing money to a pipedream of a future 3d prop, without any guarantee that they will fulfill it. That and seeing some people believing that the devs will fulfill their bought "dream ships"...
Jesus, one basic thing I learned in a capitalistic corporate world like ours, is to not believe people's promises without any sort of real evidence of progress to back up their words.

Chris Roberts's ideas are fantastic, his speech could be charming, his mind was behind great space games that made quite some people happy, but it's all like a whole big smoke grenade, you can't see ♥♥♥♥ once it goes off, and when the smoke is done, you got nothing even close to what you have being fed.
If SC ever gets done, and I mean, as a complete game, either all of us will be very old people, or just kissing the worms, honestly.

I still don’t know what Star Citizen is and I refuse to look it up

Well i dont play SC, but i still see that alot... Do you people know that the ships can be earned with in game money and that they respawn anyway at stations after being destroyed... ?

Personally, I think the concept of Star Citizen is amazing and honestly I still don't think Starfield will have that level of immersion, since as far as I've seen, Starfield is still more of a space action RPG, whereas Star Citizen is more of a space sim with on-foot sections.

Two slightly different times of games, and while I'm a fan of the idea of Star Citizen, I can't in good faith support the business model. I'm hoping that even though Starfield is different from Star Citizen, it ends up driving the player base so that Chris Roberts can stop jerking people around.

star citizen is a pyramid scheme, everyone knows it. Well except for the naab that invested.

Any naabs in need of translation: A pyramid scheme is a business model that recruits members via a promise of payments or services for enrolling others into the scheme, rather than supplying investments or sale of products.
