Ive always loved sitting on the sideline of these convos. Its great entertainment, on one side you got peoples saying keep woke politics out of games and on the otherside youve got the ones who complained it wasnt in the game in the first place. the hypocrisy you see is the funniest thing out of this entire subject and both sides seem to be blind to it.

realistically the side that fought to have this stuff in the game should understand the feelings of those that dont want it in game. there was no complaining b4 all this until one side made it an issue and now the other side is making it an issue. anyway thanks for the entertainment

Well, at least it's not like that one Tiny Life game or whatever that kind of looks like a cute little Sims competitor, but literally forces you to be non-binary and purposefully excludes everyone else.

I have no problem with the way Starfield is still offering us the choice between very obvious male and female body types while also not strictly labelling them as such so that other people can decide exactly what they their character to be if that's what floats their boat.

What I do have a problem with is that the most expensive version of the game doesn't even come with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disc and there's a complete lack of transparency as to whether this game will have a forced internet connection or not (requirements say internet but console versions don't appear to).

I am so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over needing to go through pages of BS for new released single player games just to find out if I'm actually renting it or not.

Yeah i do not often even read these threads. Just do not understand why ppl fight over things like these in games. Either they got more options or not and its up to devs to decide as its their game and everyone else can shut up.

Cyberpunk had more options than most games and i could not care less, like i do not care if i got a game that i cant even choose my character that is pre-made. It really means ppl got way too much time in their hand to complain about every tiny thing.

Realistically, this is where we're going to be headed the more this "non-binary" thing is added as an option. Toggling dialogue between male/female is as simple as replacing words. He/She, His/Her, Lad/Lass, etc. It barely takes any additional development time to implement.

However, you can't just swap "they" for "he", it changes the grammar of the sentence. In order to let the player character be non-binary, you now have to rewrite every sentence that contains a pronoun to update the grammar of the whole thing. You have to check the context of every line to be sure it's clear the pronoun is referring to one person and not multiple, which might require rewriting entire conversations if you actually want to do it right.

No game company is going to want to put in that much effort. Instead, they're either going to remove all pronouns and gendered terms for your character entirely, or just use "they" as a catch-all. So now we have 99% of people unable to have their gender recognized because we need to cater to the 1% of people who decided they're special and different.

honestly at this point, you can always count on modders making these mods. no need to waste bethesdas time in catering to your every demand because current year politics says you can become a spoiled child and get your way no matter what, because....don't ask questions, just consume information and be excited for new information regardless if it makes sense or not, otherwise your a bigot if you don't fold to these demands.

You'll be happy to know that there's a trans option in the character creation and you gain additional xp when you choose it
