Please DO NOT Switch to 7900 XTX

Guys, I thought I should share this as Many of you guys might be switching from NVIDIA to AMD GPUs just for this. If you are stupid like me. I have been using NVIDIA GPUs forever, saw AMD sponsoring Starfield so I went and bought 7900 XTX - The biggest mistake of my life.

Now I understand these things happen but AMD sucks, I had so many issues
- Boot times were insane, 2 minutes to load into Windows (this is 100% AMD's fault and there are many posts on the internet about it)
- Multi-monitor sometimes won't work, It will crash drivers until I reboot (again is AMD fault for not fixing these issues)
- Driver crashes over and over again (I don't care if I had DDR5 RAM as someone on AMD Forums suggested, NVIDIA works so should AMD)
- WIFI Interception, A horrible Coil Whine also intercepted the WIFI Signal, I Went on Diel up speed :( This could very well be faulty hardware so I don't think this is AMD's fault but I hated every min of it

I understand, my setup might have been too advanced for AMD GPU
- Intel i9 13900
- 64GB DDR5 (6000)
- MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk

Things I have tried
- Fresh Install windows twice
- Cleared CMOS and reset BIOS (bios are up to date on Motherboard and the GPU both)
- Turned off any Boot settings in BIOS which could cause it
- Tried different display ports
- Tried different cables
- Check PCIe for dust or anything, Checked the card fitting to the socket
- Checked for the power Interruptions (there are none)
- Running in standard default settings (No OC)
- Also tried undervolting and overclocking - Nothing makes any difference

So If you are thinking to switch, just keep it in mind if you have a similar setup.

NOTES:
- This post is about 7900XTX, please don't post comments like oh my 6900XT (or another card) works, I don't care, 6900XT works for me too, please don't waste time.

- If you say your 7900XTX Works, Please share your full system specs, I stated that many times, this is related to particular setups such as mine especially If you have AMD CPU, please this post is not for you with all due respect.

Never had any issues with my 6750XT and Ryzen 5700x. But i feel that RDNA 3 launched very buggy. I feel sad to hear that you are having this kind of issues... How is the used market on your country? Can you sell your 7900XTX to get an 4080/90?

ASUS is a mess. You should avoid buying ASUS mobos until they get their act together. Jay2Cents did an excellent video a few months back on his YT channel discussing why he would no longer use ASUS.

Interestingly, he also did a video just two weeks ago talking about Nvidia *finally* getting around to addressing the problem with their power connectors so that, as he put it, people won't have to waste their money on expensive paperweights (i.e. the 4090). LOL

True, but since we're talking about high end graphics cards here, the latest gen of mobos is meaningful. I used to build with MSI boards, and was thinking of switching to ASUS until I saw Jay2Cents' video about ASUS and the recent overvoltage to the cpu problems. So I went with Gigabyte and the Aorus mobo. I'll be avoiding ASUS in the future until I feel they've succeeded in rooting out whatever quality control failure led to them overvolting the cpu.

So the brick is coming back lol they said they could not find a 'hardware' fault and future BIOs update could fix it but who knows when that will happen.

So I am sticking with NVIDIA :) VERY Expensive Lesson Learned

To summarise
4070ti works
4090 works
6900XT works
7900XTX does not work

1000% sure that my setup is not at fault but anyways, good riddance.

Anyone with similar specs going to switch to 7900XTX, WATCH OUT -

AMD is cheaper for a reason
Nvidia is just overpriced and hiked the price when they found what people would pay scalpers and bitcoin miners

Not these cards, I paid $1549 (AUD) ($1000 USD) - It is not cheap :)

Hmm, I've used both AMD and nVidia GPU's.

Currently using a Powercolor Red Devil 7900 XTX on my ASUS X670E-E with no issues.

The latest BETA BIOS for using the AGESA 1007b is working fine too with EXPO setup for 6000 on my Gskill RAM kit.

Hmm, I've used both AMD and nVidia GPU's.

Currently using a Powercolor Red Devil 7900 XTX on my ASUS X670E-E with no issues.

The latest BETA BIOS for using the AGESA 1007b is working fine too with EXPO setup for 6000 on my Gskill RAM kit.

Can you post your full specs please - I am still trying to get to the bottom of the issue

A. you brought a cheap version of that card
like a powercolor one they are noisey whiners at max load
B. you have a defective card
