Can I fly my ship anywhere in game?
Like from one part of a planet to another part of the planet? Or is everything a "cut scene"?

I watched several of the videos on youtube. I see a spaceman walking around, lots of scenery and a few shoot outs. I see ship building plus ships landing in a "cut scene".

No flying what so ever, not even around the planet, unless I missed it?

thanks

I could swear I saw flying/space combat in the 45 minute reveal, unless I'm crossing my wires with Star Citizen.

You can fly your ship just as much as in the Mass Effect series, maybe even more.

You can fly and even control your ship in space, but you can't fly it on planets. I think on planets you can only fast travel with it.

Yeah if I recall correctly, you pick a landing location on the planet from space and then your ship will land there. Free flying on planets like in Elite Dangerous or No Man's Sky is probably not possible.

You can fly around all you want in open space. The only cut scenes (so far) are landing. There is no atmospheric flight like nms. I'm glad for this cause atmospheric flight in no mans sky is cool but when your going balls out along the planet the pop in is very jarring and looks horrible.

from what we have seen, there will be space flight and combat.
landing and taking off planets will be cutscenes.

The planets are 1/10 scale or something, if I recall. The only thing that you don't do is a seamless transition from planet to space.

Thanks everyone, that sounds better. I didn't want to build a ship I couldn't even fly somewhere.

enjoy, off to play a game

Um... that's been confirmed like 2 years ago before the Starfield Direct. LMAO

I said "or something". I just know that the planets will be whole and explorable, and the lifebearing worlds will have multiple biomes (THAT I know is 1/10 -- 100 of the 1000 planets have life.)

Todd Howard said you can land anywhere and explore. You just cannot land from space manually. It is a scene and auto piloted.

LOL Mass Effect was a bad example. :D

Maybe he meant the Mako/Hammerhead? Still a bad example.
