Jokes aside. We already got the talkative robot sidekick for this role. Personally, I can do without stumbling across Laika and similar cosmonaut dogs throughout Starfield in all honesty.

No indication of dogs in the game. There is a concept art scene of a cat however. I would imagine dogs will be in the game. As companions? Maybe not. Maybe yes.

You may get your wish. According to a unofficial leak, there will be dogs the players can have and be on your ship. A concept art, showed a cat inside some type of dwelling with humans

I want companion ship officers.
A poor pet is not suitable to be in a space suit or mag lock boots.
In fact, I am not sure any of the life forms that reside our good planet earth beside humans could live some form of meaningful life in space. Space is a frontier produced by human ambition, something that is not posessed by any other living beings.
Maybe they could reside in certain regions though.

I absolutely hated Dogmeat and the dogs in Skyrim especially Barnabas. I don't hate Meeko.

You know how Dogmeat was integral to Red Rocket in Fallout 4. How it forced you into that interaction.....I DON"T want that. I HATE THAT. Barnabas in Skyrim is the same way. YOU ARE FORCED TO interact with them. Meeko...you can avoid. Don't have to deal with at all.

No....you obviously didn't think your statement through. And to follow up to your next likely statement, "Well you don't need red rocket, just build on x (where x is any of the other settlements)"

So now we have gone from Ignore him, to now you have to play the game around him. You can replace dogmeat with Preston or Mama Murphey or any NPC I don't like. The problem remains. You are forced to deal with them. FORCED. NO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CHOICE.
