It's going to be on game pass day one. Play on game pass for free* before you decide to buy it or not.
*Minus the subscription price.
The "gameplay" trailer didnt show much, it was barely a gameplay trailer but a few controlled situations so I will just wait till release and see some gameplay.
It will be on both.
Since I consider Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Fallout 4 to be four of my favorite games of all time, I'll absolutely be preordering Starfield. Bethesda excels at open-world SP RPGs. So stay away from anything they release that's MP, and you'll be just fine. IMO the only time they have screwed up was with Fallout 76 and since this game isn't MP, I can forgive them of that. To me, this is going back to their roots. Will it have bugs on release? Of course. What game of this size wouldn't? But it will be patched and the community will tighten it up even more with mods.
I guarantee that I will LOVE Starfield.
Like someone has already said: I will buy the GOTY edition when they fix all the bugs. Thats what I did with Fallout 4 and boy, was I right!
This game will be a bug fest right from day one.
Mark my words.

Hey I'm just saying.
Pre-order is NOT the problem.
it would be true is the refund system was better. but it isnt.
There are of course a lot more scenarios, but i just made some examples.
Pre-ordering does not mean you have to play it day 1. You don't HAVE to launch the game the minute it comes out, you have 14 days to refund it after it's initial release, or from the day you buy it.
And second, this makes your 2 hour argument completely invalid, here's why.
The two hours is the same, even if you pre-order or not, so the only difference is that you get bonus content if you pre-order, and no bonus if you don't.
The two hours are the same. So it does not matter one way or the other, as long as you have the right to refund. This renders the "no pre-order" argument completely invalid.
if you like pre ordering so much i accept gifts btw.
