How long?
How long will it take to finish the game?

10 hrs is pretty good for a metroidvania dude...

Castlevania SotN: 11 hrs
Most of the Metroid games: around 10 hrs
Blasphemous: 14 hrs
Bloodstained: 14 hrs

The only one that have a longer playtime (mostly due to the huge and confusional map tbh) is Hollow Knight. And tbh I lost interest in the game right after hitting the 10 hrs mark.

So 10 hrs for a game like this should be the perfect time imo.

Thats BS and you know it, Tevi is over 40 hours, same Hollow Knight and Afterimage, Blasphemous 1 was also decent around 30 hours. And Castlevania games on steam are releases as budndles of sevaral games for the price of of this, so why should i pay over 20 euro foraround 8 hours of content when i can buy for this price the Dominus Collection from Castlevania and have 4 games each around 10-15 hours long. Not to mention they locked behind new game + the only difficulty that any gamer/metroidvania fan would want, so i dont see even more any reasons why i should overpay for this and since you dont own this game hourself i even less see a reason for your gatekeeping.

You are in every single thread I've been in upset over this. Indie studios do not have an infinite budget and $25 is quite a bit less than $70 last I checked.

And I am not a fan of tedious fetch quests being added to pad out hours of 'play' when a game can be a lot more fun during all the hours you do get to play. Some of us want to enjoy all the hours. Not just pass time doing mostly nothing.

I dont even know what metroidvania you talk about that costs 70 dollars, im talking about this being way overpriced for the amount of content when compared to a ton of already existing metroidvanias which all are better.
Again stop the gatekeeping when you dont care yourself to own the game, this makes anything you say empty, you dont have any right to tell what games people should buy even less when you dont care enough to buy them yourself.

I agree with Momo, to each its own, but I grew up with shorter metroidvanias, like well Metroid and Castlevania with around that play time.

Got a couple of endings in Blasphemous and, while fun, I had no desire to do more after the 18hr mark, same with afterimage.

In my region the price if fairly right, but I thought that comparing price to length was something we did 2 console generations ago, we got a lot of games with padding after that and in the end is not reflective of a good product.

20+ hour action/metroidvania games are the very definition of a coat of paint spread too thin.

The only way I can see a metroidvania being longer than 40 hours is to look for every little secret, 100% map exploration and with at least a new game+. You're talking nonsense here.

So don't buy it and go buy some older games.

Is THAT easy.

p.s. never had a metroidvania that lasted 40hrs long. Maybe someone here need just to, well... GIT GUD (THIS is gatekeeping ;) )

Today's math problem:
$18 / 10 (call it 10 for an average playthrough) = $1.80 per hour to be entertained playing a video game. Just enjoy the game or pass on it if you think it's too short for you vs complaining about a fairly normal Metroidvania game length. I'm intrigued on this one. If the controls are smooth/responsive, I'm going to get it. I'm just waiting for feedback on that topic.

You speedrunned them or what ?
I did Bloodstained 100% without DLC in 30h
Afterimage 100% in 50h .
Sotn : 20h

I wanted to play this game because it looked as good as Afterimage, but the lifespan is a no-no, despite the more than decent price tag.
I'll pass, but I wish for this game nothing but the best, and hope for a sequel that will hopefully take much longer to finish.

Well, you are strange Asakura (to be polite) with your ratio time:money.
You own ♥♥♥♥ ton of games that you played less (played, not finished or just did the tutorial lol) than 15 hours that cost more than 20 bucks, that you didn't touch for years.
Comparatively, you played a small amount of content and payed far more than this one.

Why telling the ratio content / length : money of this game is bad when you pay full price for 1/10th of a game ? Is this not the pot calling the kettle black ?

Btw, not owning the game doesn't mean you can't speak / follow the actuality of a forum. Maybe ppl have this game wishlisted and wait for more reviews and first week impressions ? So your stupid argument, put it directly where you think, deflate your ego, respect ppl taste and come back to earth.

Be like Kyschoo, be cool and postive, or OnlyPads with a constructed answer.
You are straight up a douchebag here with your answers.

TL;DR : "Hey look, a 20 bucks game lasting 10 hours. BAD. Oh, btw, i have multiple [20-60] bucks games lastin [20-80] hrs that i played [1-15] hours years ago and will never finish. GOOD
I can give life advice to ppl and freely be a hater on every post i see. YEAH"
