I don't think there's much way they can ruin Crysis even more. But Crysis 1, I'm definitely not going to try to play the remake. But I think I'm going to buy Crysis 3 remake, to see if I can have some fun.
C3R is C3 that plays out of the box, doesn't need origin, holds framerates better, and has a fully unlocked console that you can mess around in, plus many other improvements.
That being said, i noticed that light from any light source that isnt the sun doesnt cast shadows, bleeding through the world geometry even.
I was disapponted that Crysis 2 was not in a jungle, but it became my all time favorite game. I have played it many times in all difficulty levels and styles and I loved every time. I dont know what you didnt like in C2. C1 and C1 Warhead were also great but I did not like the way the suit shortcuts worked. In C2 movement is improved and that makes the game more fun to play. If there is one game in the series I think is lacking is C3. It is refined with great graphics but the story and the missions were not interesting.
Crysis series predecessor, FarCry, is also one of my all time favorite games... FarCry sequels were nowhere near as good and interesting as FC1.....
But what bothered me about Crysis 2 specifically is the fact that it's not as sandbox as the beginning of Crysis 1. Some details were left aside, like the fact that you can kill your enemies with a turtle or think of ways to approach different. The ambience is bad.
But there is the nostalgia factor. I played crysis 1 in 2007 or 2008 can't remember, so it was mindblowing for that time. crysis 2 was kind of a downgrade in some freedon feeling aspect for a game lunched many years later.
I think you need to give C2 another chance. There are lots of ways to tackle most situations. Even brute force can work in many cases. As you learn the game and you improve your precision you can "spectre" kill most opponents. Opponents are not total idiots waiting to be killed, and as the game progresses the environment becomes more interesting.
About FC1, it really is difficult in the highest level that there are levels almost impossible to pass. I played it a couple of years ago in the highest difficulty and it was the only time that I did not enjoyed it. Finaly I had to enable manual save to finish it.....
