Fixed a few issues with this game to make it stable on AMD CPU, thought I'd share
Hi all,

This thread is purely just to share some configuration tweaks that help make Crysis Remastered run more stable with an AMD CPU. I thought I'd share since I've seen a few other discussions with similar issues to mine that I was able to solve.

My system specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D running with an EXPO performance profile (no custom overclocking)
RAM: 64 GB ddr5 @ 7000Mhz
GPU: NVidia RTX 3090 OC Edition from MSI
Storage: 4TB M.2 NVMe drive
Monitor: 43" 120hz ROG 4K LED

Here are some of the tweaks I made to get the game running smoothly without crashing. Before, I was getting random game CTDs every few minutes of playtime, so much so that the game was unplayable.

1) DISABLE SWITCHABLE GRAPHICS
-> I don't know why, but this game really doesn't play nice with any kind of switchable graphics configuration. In my case, the AMD CPU contains its own on-chip GPU as well. Disable that weaker CPU-integrated GPU in the Device Manager (this may come at the expense of power savings).
-> FIXED 2 ISSUES:
- Fixed that stupid message that you'll see when attempting to start the game saying "Hardware Ray Tracing Disabled". This is because when you boot up the game, if you have switchable graphics enabled, the game first sees that your CURRENT GPU is whatever your weaker GPU is, since your PC is generally trying to save power when you're not doing anything that requires the GPU to work hard.
* Ray tracing will be hardware-based now, greatly improving performance if you have it enabled.
- Also fixed the majority of the random crashes that I was getting within the game.

2) Unpark CPU cores and set "Remember this is a game" in the Xbox Bar
-> I was reading online (https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/comments/11ik3h5/solution_for_cores_not_parking_on_7900_and_7950x3d/) that AMD CPUs tend to have an issue where their cores don't park properly during some multi-threaded games, causing the cores to kind of jostle back-and-forth non-stop while playing, at the expense of game performance. Follow the steps in that reddit post to make sure they are parking properly.
-> I had to do this in my case. The Xbox bar was not already identifying Crysis as a game, which is apparently necessary for this core parking mechanism to work properly.

3) Make sure your Windows Game Mode settings have Crysis Remastered set to "High Performance"

4) Set Nvidia Control Panel game settings for Crysis Remastered (add it if it's not already there) to have "Power management mode" -> "Prefer maximum performance"

With these changes, I'm able to run the game in 4k 2160p at around 100-120 fps with all the "Can you run Crysis?" graphics settings enabled (besides ray tracing, which I leave disabled so that I can use the DLSS without too much performance hit). The DLSS setting is set to Performance.

Please share any other tips/configs here that you have found that have worked for you. I think this game isn't as broken as people think--it's just got bad default config.
