however the true worth of the first game remastered is in the savings of the crysis trilogy remaster bundle. So in the bundle its well worth it even if you dont like it.
Overall though, I think I'd rather play Crysis Remastered for the ray tracing and DLSS features if the minor bugs aren't an issue for you (I played the game a year ago, so maybe the bugs are fixed now).
If you decide to play the original Crysis instead, I'd suggest getting the GoG version so you don't have SecuROM or limited numbers of installations of the game. Ditto for Crysis Warhead (an excellent underrated game btw). Fortunately, none of the Crysis Remastered games have that problem that the originals did, so that's one more reason to go with Crysis Remastered over the original if you don't want to get the GoG version of the original.
Fortunately, Crysis 2 Remastered and especially Crysis 3 Remastered seem to run a lot better than the original Crysis Remastered in my experience.
But if your PC is really strong, visual glitches aside, iirc Crysis Remastered ran fine for me.
It's not 2007 anymore.
You might notice that Crysis 2 and 3 remastered have notably better reviews. This is because they actually work properly and look a bit better than the originals, also because they had console ports to begin with.
I think this is because Crysis 1 was a lazy attempt at remastering since they used a old console port version as source which already had its fair shares of problems. The core game was always a PC Master Race game but they kinda destroyed it and made it worse trying to port it down to consoles. Even more so because they never ever properly remade the game in a newer CryEngine and instead imported the CryEngine 2 build into CryEngine 3 and now put some CryEngine 4 improvements on top. Yes, after patches it is mostly ironed out but it still leaves a sour aftertaste as a PC Enthusiast. Aside of that the Epic Store exclusivity was a big turn off for many.
I think most just wanted a proper remake of Crysis 1 and also the Warhead campaign and not this somewhat lazy looking remaster. Warhead is still forgotten and does not look like they bring it back. They could easily make this a seller if they included a updated MP component like Crysis Wars 2.0 as extra all with Steamworks integration and everything. But whoever holds the ropes as Crytek seems to go for the fast money routine. The company definitely has recovered over the past years, thanks to Hunt Showdown especially but as a old Crytek fan who has seen all their ups and downs I know that the company is not what it once was back in the PC Master Race times. (2001-2009) I bet barely anyone even remembers stuff like X-Isle and the CryEngine tech demos.
Somehow the handling of the whole Crysis franchise seems odd at best in the past decade. I mean all of the remasters were outsourced to another studio even. I guess at least they got their games back from the EA franchise prison but still... I dont even know what to think of a Crysis 4 at this point. I really hope they do not screw it up.
