I can run the new Portal RTX tech demo with MAX settings and DLSS off at 100 FPS in 1440p.

Crysis? Nope! 🤣

got around 70fps, maximum graphics in 3440x1440 on my 3080 with dlss quality mode. full specs on my profile.
Something's wrong on your side

Crysis seems to hate the 4090 lol.
Hardly run at 3440x1440 if you use DLSS.
Ran fine for me too and I use a 4090 like OP.

The FPS drops are usually caused by the late levels of enemies being stuck in the air or not being recognized when they get killed lol.

Crysis is CPU limited since it only runs single threaded. Watch Digital Foundry's video about it on youtube. Basically the higher resolution you run it, the worse it affects the CPU and objects, shadows, and vegetation affect CPU performance. Basically you can max out everything but those three settings. Set shadows to medium and objects and vegetation to high. Try that out. If it is running pretty good, put shadows up to high too.

Well a good GPU isn't everything. What's your CPU, RAM?

Been asked a few times without answer so must be a very unbalanced PC build.

Probably something along the lines of:
- Intel i3-560 with stock cooler
- 8GB DDR3-1066
- Nvidia RTX 4090
- 1TB HDD
- 450W unbranded PSU from Wish.com

Edit:
... and a case with two fans from an old Dell tower, both blowing in.

You're absolutely correct.

Or, maybe I just don't give a crap because I refunded the game already.

But, here you go.

You forget to add the following:
"Prices include scalper profit, shipping, taxes, and discounts when available."

Nice specs, but...
$2,299 for a $1,699 GPU
You paid a scalper too much for me to be jealous.
Just my personal opinion - take it with a grain of :steamsalty:

I prefer my build, which for the most part costed me MSRP or less, and was close to the price of your GPU alone. To each their own...
• Case
Phanteks Evolv Shift 2 Air (SFF: Mini-ITX)
• CPU
Intel i5-12600KF ~4.9GHz 10c/16t (6P+4E)
• AIO
ASUS TUF Gaming LC 120 ARGB
• GPU
RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X PLUS 12G OC LHR
• RAM
Kingston FURY Beast 32GB DDR5-4800
• Motherboard
ASUS ROG Strix B660-I Gaming (PCIe 5.0)
• Network
Intel Wifi 6 Adapter (700+Mbps down on my network)
• Storage
Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe 1TB
Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe 2TB
Samsung 870 Evo SSD 1TB (Windows ded)
• PSU
Cooler Master V850 SFX (850w 80+ Gold)

I love the fact you don't realize that's just the current GPU price listed on PCPartPicker.

I paid MSRP for my 4090. $1600. Woke up at 6AM on release and clicked refresh once.

It's not hard to get a 4090 at MSRP if you know what to do.

3440x1440 rtx 3070ti , ryzen 5 5600x perfectly runs in "Can it run cryisis " settings at 50-60 fps.
Zeek Dec 23, 2022 @ 5:37pm
The problem isn't even GPU my 4090 uses 40-50% it's some weird issue with CPU usage, it's not very optimized for multi-core still and gets caught up on 2 primary threads. Seeing 60 fps dips just in the first area. 80 fps avg looking up at the sky or at the forest doesn't change much for GPU usage, CPU usage on 2 threads goes from 60% to 80%s but FPS drops a ton.

Only part it drops below 60 for me is when you look down on the village with the hostage in it early on. Everything else is above 60 (mostly well above it too).

Just for the sake of sanity if anyone ever stumbles upon this again, do this:

*****

1) Download and use DXVK or better => DXVK-GPL-ASYNC (google it, great for AMD GPUs as well, fixes minor bugs with nightsky etc)

2) Once DXVK is set, go to settings and set "Objects Quality" to "Very High", keep the whole rest of stuff to "CIRC" whatever.

3) Disable VSYNC in-game, force VSYNC through "dxvk.conf" to avoid microstuttering.

4) Profit & Enjoy!

*****

You still need a GPU at the equivalent of RX 6800/7800 as it runs on 90% GPU load in most difficult scenery with these. But FPS drops to 40-50 are gone. "Experimental RT" now runs better on "AMD GPUs" as well, but still under heavy GPU load, so reather avoid it.

You see, "CIRC" is wasted for "Objects Quality", it's the same old story for CryEngine for almost 20 years. Way too much of heavy LOD sh*at constantly overloading "DrawCalls", especially while outside in wide areas with many objects on set. If these are not properly occluded, it just drops to FPS hell. Only solution is to reduce polygons to reduce DrawCalls...

"Objects" on "CIRC" will almost never work OK in correlation with the engine itself and it's resource management no matter what GPU is used.. (except in case of CPU&GPU @OC to 5457788478 quadrillion of THzs indeed... ).

Vulkan FTW :summer2019boost:

4090 is a good card. but your pentium might be a too slow CPU.

BTW, soon we get 5090. Then we can finally play 5120 x 2160p
