Controller support?
It doesn't seem to detect my Xbox One or 8BitDo gamepad and for this game it would be perfect.

I hope this gets controller support. The keyboard and mouse controls are terrible.

Same exact thoughts. The demo felt really clunky to play because I had to use the keyboard.
+1 for xbox controller support +1
Messaggio originale di PainkilleR:
And how exactly is this game perfect for the controller when it requires you to pull moves that are literally impossible on controllers (eg pressing exactly opposite movement directions simultaneously)?

Don't get me wrong, I think every game on pc should support every xinput and dinput device, every ultra wide and ultra narrow and whatever monitor, etc, etc, out of the box, but what's up with this idea that this particular game would somehow be playable on controllers?
Why would even code such a move? Who want's to press two opposite directional moving keys to do something? You could just make it press forward then quickly backwards, this way you could even have another move that you trigger by doing the opposite.

I see this as a prgoramming issue, not a peripheral one. Besides, you could code, let's say, move forward+move backward key to be left trigger+x, or just left trigger. The keybinds aren't magic, you could bind the move to a single key, the dev just decided to complicate things.

This reminds me of trying to learn the pissing move in primal rage (Hold 1+3 and move joystick D, D; then hold 1+2+3+4 and move joystick A, T, A, T, A meaning away and T meaning towards enemy).

Edit: I bought a program called controller companien on Steam a few years back, which makes it possible to play all games with a controller and which would even let me configure a single button to do what you said (pressing two keys). So, while there are plenty of work arounds, nothing beats native, thought through controller support.

The game released in 2001. Literally shut the F up.
Is there a point you are trying to make? They re released it on Steam to sell it, so I don't see how 2001 is an argument. Plenty of other companies re release their products with enhancements.
I have a feeling you aren't one to have a disucussion with that doesn't result in puny insults, but maybe you can surprise me.
I have to admit,

a game like this on controller would be great,

reason being when you 'tab' target an enemy to 'focus' on them the game becomes a 'dueler',

duelers work great with controllers cause they give you precise speed and accuracy needed to pull of moves,

very immersive with great hit feedback (vibration etc).

There might be some issues with duplicate directions at the same time, but that's solvable if you use both sticks at the same time (controllers have two sticks don't they?).

Would be quite something to play through Severance again with a controller, lol.

(and Imagine if by doing so they get to port it to CONSOLES !!

Then the whole world will know the greatness of Severance !!!111)

lol
Yep. Agreed. Love this game, loved it when it came out and really want to replay it today, but today I just can't play this without controller support. please, devs!!!
How can you do the attacks that require to press up + down simultaneously with the controller??????

I wonder how are you going to do attack, that requires left, right and backwards at the same time.
People wondering 'what about the attacks that require xyz to push' --

folks, games that get ported or upgraded with (proper) controller support obviously 'over-haul' the mechanics necessary in the game,

if certain combos require certain moves on a keyboard, then they would adjust the commands for them to make sense on a controller, that's all.

Not sure if that's possible (to rewrite the combo code), but either way they can figure it out, and otherwise that should be impetus to make a 'sequel' (literal or otherwise),

and make it controller supportable.

For Honor shows how much people love 'dueling' combat,

it goes without saying I'm OBVIOUSLY NOT SAYING a sequel to Severance should have EXACTLY the 'For Honor' controls,

what I'm saying is that For Honor has a dueling 'lock-on' combat system that people love, and if implemented properly with 'rpg' elements and the vibe and ambiance Severance has,

a 'sequel' (spiritual successor, etc) would be a massive run-away HIT.

Soporte nativo para mando por favor
