Development
So I am thinking of giving this another go as I am now getting bored of MM. Do you focus a specific area or do you just leave it balanced when designing parts.

Always start with wings & Underfloor, rest are minimal improvements.

Just keep doing parts, sliders don't matter, 1&2 every race starts from season 2 no matter what team you start with. Have fun...

Hi vvrcic1, welcome to the Forum.

I don´t know how the others make their Cars. But I perfer to make an adjusted Development of all 6 Aerodynamik-Parts. All have an big Effect of the complete car.

If you play an Top-Team then it doesen´t matter what you Upgrade first. But for small Teams it´s better to beginn with following Parts:

1. Suspension, Side-Boxes and if I remember correctly Chassis (you can get there to Level 2 very fast)

2. Front-Wing, Rear Wing (you can get there to Level 2 in good Time)

3. Underfloor (took at longest so in my R & D at latest for the smaller Teams)

Before you make an R & D for the next year Car I make an Side-Box, Suspension and Chassis-Upgrade to Level 3.

From what I have learned since I occopy myself since the 1990s with Formula 1 are the Main-Components for an F1 Car the following:

1. Chassis (Groundbase for the full Car)
2. Suspension (Groundbase for the full Car and linked with the Chassis)
3. Side Box (the Main-Cooling for all mechanical internal Parts)
4. Front- and Rear-Wing (both hold the Car on the Street and don´t let aviate the Car)
5. Underfloor (the Main-Part for officials with the wooden board)

you couldn't be more wrong.
Your list is completely opposite of what everyone else does, and how the game calculates each part and improvement to overall car performance.

Just because someone does something different, doesn't mean they are 'doing it wrong'.
I spent the first year of design and research concentrating purely on engine and brake cooling.
Not everyone wants to have a championship winning car using rookie drivers by the end of 2023.
*Edit to add* .. I also only ever design using the 'intense' mode, and I almost always only use 1 engineer, unless I feel the end project date calendar-wise really doesn't suit, at which point I may opt for using 2.
Fun in the game comes in all shapes and sizes.
