Imagine this when others like Nintendo just erase every ended project about something they own.
They might've.
Bionicle: Quest for Mata Nui https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpDnhOuhJ3Sxr4SpBudL15Q is another fan made game in development that officially got Lego's approval. Lego approves a lot of fan lego games/restorations like
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2558223061 which was made by another team who restore bionicle games. They even have installs for the old appstore games.
and DarkFlame Universe (the Lego Universe restoration project)
These projects aren't for profit and if successful generate Lego free advertising.
Two fanmade open world Bionicle RPGs that look absolutely magnificent. What a time to be alive.
Digital Trends is saying LEGO gave their blessing, though the article they attached the claim to doesn't mention it at all.
I've reached out for comment, but for now I'm thinking they've taken a similar stance as the Quest For Mata Nui project, where LEGO were informed in advance, and gave the green light to proceed.
Making games and adverts is expensive, these projects are either going to revive an entire product line or keep us Bionicle fans quiet for FREE, it's a massive win for them.
It doesn't matter whether it's free or not, once you have the license it will stay on your account.
