Why do you have to buy it again?
Is there enough new content to warrant this not being purchasable as a discounted upgrade for people who already own the original game?

there's at least 5 more hours of content, and this is also a full port made in Unity, rather than Source (which is the engine used for the original)

If you're reeeally aching for new content, just look up playthroughs of tspud, otherwise wait for it to go on discount because imo its not worth the price currently

I probably will. The fact that this is being marketed as a new edition instead of an all new product despite asking for more than i originally paid for this back in 2013 especially has me feeling like it isnt worth it, and even then it was already a game that loses its novelty after one playthrough

There's a lot of new content and a fair bit of it involves new areas. It's a lot more diverse than the original game when it comes to the environments. It's basically a squeal, a fact that's used as a joke in the game and a large subject of what the new content is about.

I never played the first game and just purchased the 'sequel' and don't believe it's worth the full price of $25. The satire is great and I can tell where the sequel starts, but that's about it. It's one of those games where there's so many endings, that there's no point in really discovering each ending since it's just a walking simulator, and so you just resort to YouTube videos if you are truly curious. The second game (it's more like an expansion) has some new endings, and basically adds a bucket (this is easily the most important feature) which gives you additional dialogue for each path.

Wait until it goes on sale. Steam sales are so often that it's almost never worth buying a game full price if you are unsure it is worth MSRP. Steam Summer sale starts next month.

Even for Stanley Parable 1 + 2 combined, it's not worth $25. You can get all the achievements in less than 24 hours (only because there's this Tuesday commitment achievement) which = game completion and it has no actual replayability beyond that point.

If you want a walking simulator game with great storytelling, 30+ hours of content, satire, etc., then go for Disco Elysium. Stanley Parable is rather overrated.

this person basicly said:
i never played the first game, so i dont know all the easter eggs and i have absolutely no idea what is new and what not in this game, i have no idea for what the memory room is and no idea at all, this is only a walking simulator for me, so i recomment another walking simulator for you which i through and through played because i can tell you its better then this walking simulator of which i have absolutely no idea why they remade it because i do not know the story behind it. now, buy the other walking simulator and get the achievements even quicker then in this one, its totally no waste of money to buy another walking simulator.

TL;DR: if you dont like games like this, why the heck do you recomment another game which is like this ... >_> where is the logic behind that? if you have no idea of/from a game, stop making it bad.
Porting a game to a new engine isn't trivial, nor are the sound design, writing, recording, design, coding, testing, asset creation, and everything else that went into creating this game. Labor isn't free.

Whether you should have to pay as much as is being asked is a separate question. If you feel you shouldn't, I advise awaiting a sale.
It's an odd one. They are after a new customer base by porting to other platforms......but......it's full of inside gags that new the console customers just won't get.
