I wouldn’t see a problem if it happened to have a tower already, and it would certainly be convenient. That said, it’s free. If you ignore it and let it be destroyed then it has had 0 impact on your overall strategy anyway. Valuing it enough to defend it at all seems like an acceptable individual player’s choice.
