UE 5 crash

Does any one have any good ways to get past missing dll ue 5 crash. game is unplayable only runs for five mins and crashes. treid all normal cures but nothing works. have turned auto saves off and not runni9ng

What .dll file is the error telling you is missing?

2.1 -On your Internet browser, go to https://www.dll-files.com/ .

2.2 -In the search box, paste the name of the file from the error

2.3 -a new page will open with the filename…Click on eeeet!

2.4 -you will see a list of files with the name (32 bit and 64 bit). click on the one corresponding with your computer’s system.

2.5 -The file will download (zipped). Extract the files to your computer.

2.6 -Copy the dll file, and go to the game's file location.

2.7 -Paste the file.

2.8 -Go back to the launcher and try to run the engine again. If it doesn't work, go to the next step.

2.9 -GO back to the event viewer and click on event viewer Local again. Repeat Steps 1.4 to 2.9, until the engine runs.

This error usually occurs when the GPU cannot load the game properly on your PC.

There are 3 main causes of it.

Corrupted or missing game files – This error could occur if your game is missing a file or any files associated with the game are corrupt. You can verify the integrity of the game file to fix it.

Incompatible graphics driver – This error could occur if your computer doesn’t have the latest drivers installed. You need to always update drivers for the smooth functioning of your PC.

Game optimization app installed – If you have a game optimization software on your computer, it might conflict with the game, resulting in a crash. Try uninstalling the app to fix it.

There's a couple things you can do that may fix it:

Verify the integrity of game files

Disable game optimization in programs like the GeForce Experience. It sometimes will conflict.

Update the graphics driver.

Run the game in Compatibility mode for Windows 7.


This one is a bit more advanced, but may help:

Modify the Launch Options

1.) Open the Steam app.

2.) Click Library, go to the game, right-click on it and click Properties.

3.) Go to General, click Set Launch options, and type: -force -dx11

4.) Click OK to save the changes.

5.) Click Close to close the Properties window.

thank you for the report. The isue has been tracked. Please post your system specs aswell.

The "3d device being lost" problem is essentially Unreal Engine losing contact with your graphics device which can have multiple causes depending on the hardware and Engine combination used.

However the issue can be troubleshooted. (See post above)
