Please consider a VR-mode
Dear MegaPixel. Please consider a VR-Mode or expansion for any future updates to this game.

I understand transporting the game to VR would be a rather jarring process as well as confusing on how an on-rail shooter with scripted camera views could work. And I'm sure your legal team would perhaps say that the game would be impractical for health and safety reasons.
Playing THotD in VR would be something I'd really like to experience if it is at all possible in the near future.

I have some suggestions on how THotD VR could work with lowering chances of nausea and VR-sickness to players.

Removing scripted cameras
To simply put, allow the player to freely observe their surroundings. This is an obvious procedure given today's VR headsets have head tracking to view and is expected in all games.

Understandably this will make it difficult for the game to indicate where the player should face when it comes to on coming attacks. In which case perhaps it can be optional to have a sort of HUD radar or "<!>" pointers on visor to show immediate danger or maybe Virtua Cop's Lock-On sights be introduce as clear indicators to where the player must turn their heads to look.

Set auto-rail speed.
VR players can scale the games original speed or half slow. This is so once the player is done blasting enemies at an area the game will proceed at a pace the VR player is comfortable with.

Dotted lines
Optional to enable for VR players. The moment the last enemy in an area is killed a dotted line will appear from where they are standing to the next encounter point indicated by a triangle-arrow. This will give the player more awareness of where the auto-rail will take them next and be more prepared for it.

Conclusion
These are just some suggestion if it's a matter of concern for player health and safety while experiencing your product as a VR game.
I know there are plenty of on-rail VR games out there to take example from (Drop Dead, Zombieland: Headshot and Gal*Gun comes to mind) but from all the VR on-rail games I would like to experiance, it be House of the Dead (and Virtua Cop)!

Nah all this ♥♥♥♥ is way overboard. The best way to do it and preserve the experience would be a vr mode where you're looking at arcade cabinet with a lightgun. House of the dead wouldn't work with camera freedom. It wasn't designed to and at that point you're playing a very different game.

Oh boy where to start., Mad Chad doesnt VR. You dont need camera freedom for VR to work and many 3rd person games (that dont need camera freedom) work well in VR. No, HOTD is not a 3rd person game. blah vblah blah....

This game would work very well in VR.

Good idea.

Oh, two more thing I forgot to add to the list.

Laser sights
Putting the 2D cursor in virtual 3D maybe awkward without it being a flat screen. This can easily be remedied with a laser sight. Laser sights are traditionally red but maybe the player can set the colour, that or a cyan laser sight for player 2.

Virtua(l) Guns
I can accept if making and selling actual Virtua Guns as a promotional is just straight up unlikely to ever happen.
But virtual Virtua Guns could be a thing. Especially with the option to set them to black, European blue and American red.

Thank you. That's all I can ask for. =)

I'd like to add my support for this idea. This would be a no-brainer!

Be aware that there is another thread growing as well with many players asking for VR too:

Not sure if you tried VR but it FITS PERFECT for this game and core gameplay, actually VR can improve it a lot

Yeah, if I had known that thread was there, I wouldn't of made this one.

But given the VR market is sadly dying before it can get on it's legs I really wanted to hammer in the VR-potential of THotD and, if it's health and safety reasons, offer some advice to work around those reasons.

I'm in for VR, even if it's paid DLC 😅

I'm one of those who still go to local game shops to buy hard copies of games and I'm friends with the game store owner the town over and he things VR is a failing market.
I myself see it's great potential, I'm sure most do. But game developers seem to struggle with making it work.
