That's right, I'm talking about this "remastered" release of Dead Space. It's hard to believe that people are actually buying this thing for full price.

Let's be real here, the game is ancient. It's not like it's some kind of rare, collectible item that's worth a fortune. It's just a video game that's over a decade old. And yet, people are lining up to buy it for the same price they would pay for a brand new game. Are they insane?

I mean, sure, the game has been remastered and given a shiny new coat of paint, but let's be honest, it's still the same game that came out 15 years ago. It's not like they've added any new content or made any major changes to the gameplay. It's just the same old game with a slightly better graphics.

But that's not even the worst part. The real kicker is that people are buying this remastered version instead of just playing the original game. I mean, it's not like the game is hard to find or anything. It's been available for purchase for 15 years. And yet, people are spending $60 on a remastered version instead of just buying the original for a fraction of the price.

I had my thoughts too... buy it or not... i risked it... and i enjoy the game, i just enjoy it. I don't think about all that "Mimimi it is so woke!" - yes it has some woke stuff in it - but not that much for my taste.

The controls are so fluent now that dying is nearly impossible on M&KB.

I can't even play Dead Space 2 (which was given for free for purchasing this game) because my hardware is too good.

the game is more than just a fresh paint a coat and while $60 might be a little high there's worse remakes charging the same and zero ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it. It's a pretty great remake and I would prefer it over original. Also looking at achievement % on some of the achievements in the game it's clear people aren't really exploring much.

People whining about games without giving them a chance (be that a paid or free variant of a chance) are the actual problem here. Cry more man. I'll look forward to a remake of dead space 2 while you drown in tears.

The "problem" would be more like how are games in 2022 not better than this decade old game?

We've not only seen little to no evolution, but instead of moving towards even more HUD-less and even more immersive games like Dead Space, the industry has been moving mostly in the opposite direction.

I blame the dumb-dumbs who keep buying Ubisoft games.

It's not a 15yo game tho, it's a Remake.

I've played over 20 hours since release, I played the original back in the day and wanted a refresh and to see how well they managed to update it. Looks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing with RT on and the 15 year old gameplay style is still better than most ♥♥♥♥ released today. Guess why Elden Ring did so well even though it's just open world DkS with a jump mechanic, because games were better 15 years ago. Simple base mechanics with a depth to encounters.

I would personally pay $60 + $100 if i could play through megaman one on a proper working NES again. Different strokes for different folks, your left hand should know.

This price would have payed for half of a grocery run, 3-4 dominos pizzas, or what, like 2-3 movies (at the cinema that is). It takes me just over two hours at work to earn.

I don't know if I'd describe the old controls as clunky. More like molasses. Mouse de-acceleration is baked into the mouse ADS movement and you have to mod it out just like DS1. The control stick on the controllers only picks up the final 1/4 range of the stick for aiming too and the original 2 Dead Spaces only had partial controller support.

But yeah, the aiming is so smooth and clean in the remake. I went from being unable to hit the broad side of a barn with DS1's mouse de-accel to 90%+ accuracy easily and instantly in the Dead Space 1 remake.
