Traversal Stutter still not fixed
The PC version of Dead Space (Remake) still suffers from loading zone stutters as of (Feb 28th, 2023). I created a video to demonstrate the issue and will link it below. This issue is easily reproduceable, and occurs throughout the games entirety in the same exact spots. It doesn't matter your computers specs, or what type of drive you have it installed on. This makes the game borderline unplayable (in my personal opinion) as the immersive experience is constantly being disrupted by these stutters which halt the gameplay experience. This has to be fixed. This really bad

yes it always happens when you're close to a door, it's because the ship is one big whole map. if there were loading screens we wouldn't have this issue.

It doesn't just happen near doors (though many of them are), there are plenty of games with big maps that don't suffer from this issue, these loading zones that are causing stutter are not spread out, they are everywhere, and almost completely ruin exploration. It would be one thing if they happened once every 30 minutes or an hour. There are traversal stutters that are within minutes of each other. Its unacceptable and needs to be reported / fixed.

i don't think the issue will ever be fixed

This does not justify anything, there are games without loading screens and with much larger interconnected maps completely full of assets that must be constantly streamed and do not suffer from this kind of stuttering, in DSR it is simply a bad optimization.

It's been a month since launch and the Devs haven't even mentioned if they are investigating or working on resolving the traversal stutters so it's highly likely they will never fix it.

Interesting, hopefully these are not only exclusive fixes for the steam deck.

Thanks for the info. I will be the first to test it when and if it gets released. Whether people think its a small or big issue, the fact remains that it needs to be fixed so the game can be experienced the way it was supposed to be, and for preservation purposes.

The devs did not even acknowledge the problem. I don't think they know how to fix it.

It will never be fixed, just give up and uninstall or refund now if you can. I actually cant get past chapter 4 because when any cutscene plays the FPS goes to 6-7FPS and I get killed every time because my inputs are so delayed and I legit cant tell what's going on due to the low FPS.

It's definitely better if set your mouse polling rate to 500/sec.

This has nothing to do with the traversal stutter issue, and your mouse polling rate is irrelevant in this game. I was using a controller anyway.

I feel like I'm stating the obvious but that's not stutter. Before the the game was patched I had the same issue during cut scenes or large rooms. Only thing that fixed it for me was going from 1440p to 1080p.
After patches I can do 1440p with Quality DLSS and everything maxed.

Yeah devs didn't mention it yet, nor do they seem to work on it, plus the success of DSR might make it unlikely that they need to focus on it :-(
I don't care for great details in games but for a smooth experience, so the stutters made me shift DSR to at least its first sale.

The traversal stutters are annoying no doubt but if you keep playing you actually build some kind of level of tolerance for it. Eventually your brain will filter them out.

Unfortunately this issue will not get fixed, it’s the same Returnal and many other games.
