game crashing

so my game just keeps crashing, like joining a server or playing on lone wolf and I don't know why

Sorry to hear. Have you installed any mods? Have you tried repairing installation in steam?

Are you getting a crash report prompt?

If so, what does it say?

If not, check the log file:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\GroundBranch\Saved\Logs\ 

Easiest way to get there is do to Windows Key + R, the copy paste that in.

With any luck, it will have logged something that can help figure out what is going on.

What of the most common issues (with Unreal Engine based games) is this one:
Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost.

this is what the crash report says and i've only installed some patch mods and the gas mask mod from nexus and the mod that makes it so i can use vortex

i think the problem was on my end cause it's not crashing now

There is the issue - a bad file.
Could be caused by a hardware issues (i.e. SSD/HDD dying), but more likely just a minor issue when it was being downloaded from Steam.

Verify Integrity of Game Files should sort the issue.

Probably have to reinstall the mods you mention.
